Mixing it up in BB
To make things interesting maybe the BE should break down into separate divisions/regions. Each region plays the schools in that region twice. those in region paired with it once and 2 teams from each region in the other division once. Then have a tournament to find a conference champ.
DIVISION A
South region:

USF
LOUISVILLE
WVA
PITT

MIDATLATIC REGION:
GEORGETOWN
RUTGERS
SETON HALL
VILLANOVA

DIVISION B
NORTHEAST REGION:

UCONN
PROVIDENCE
SYRACUSE
ST. JOHN'S

MIDWEST REGION:

NOTRE DAME
MARQUETTE
DEPAUL
CINCINNATTI
IN TOURNAMANT
South seed 1 plays midwest seed 4
" " 2" " seed 3
etc and the same for NE VS MIDATLANITC
tHE 2 "Champs" then play for the conf champ
might be overly complicated but much better than finishing 15th or 16th in a conference

RE: Mixing it up in BB
I actually kind of like that idea.

Although, I'm sure it will never happen.

RE: Mixing it up in BB
It would be feasible only if they were going to permanently fix the 3 teams everyone plays twice each year. But the head office has no such plans...
