RE: WVU... What is your opinion?
Browning Nagle is the QB that didn't want to be 2nd fiddle to Major Harris at WVU, and made a nice career for himself at Louisville. He was a good QB, and would have had a good career at WVU. But he came to Morgantown at the wrong time if he wanted the starting job. There was no way he was going to unseat The Major, and he knew it.

So he went where he could play, and did very nicely...

Yep, that sums it up pretty nicely. He did beat WVU at least once as a Cardinal. I didn't know if ya'll had hard feelings because he left your school or not. He did a great job at UofL.

I got to see Major Harris play at Louisville, it was really unbelievable how good a scrambler and tackle breaker he was. He was a joy to watch, when you were not playing against him. 04-cheers

-- I always liked Nagle, but Bit is right. There was no one in the country that was going to be beat out Major. The entire WVU offense was built around him. Also at the time, WVU had a highly regarded backup named Greg Jones. Jones never became what everyone thought he was going to but didn' know that at the time

Yes, he did beat WVU. But you have to remember, he did it after The Major left. He sat out a year for the transfer, and had his first year at Louisville when Major Harris was a junior, and The Major left school a year early to try for the NFL, which never panned out...

That is, if I remember correctly... 03-old
