WVU-Syracuse game thread
The Mountaineers started off with the ball, and Pat White on the bench. Jarrett Brown gets the start, and he starts out wound up tight. His first 2 passes were way overthrown. He needs to settle down.

Nice punt and coverage on the punt though, pinning the Orange deep on their first possession...

And Syracuse marched right down the field. At least WVU kept 'em out of the end zone. 3-0 Orange

I hope Reed Williams is coaching Anthony Leonard up. He got burnt big twice on that drive... 03-banghead

I thought it was the Mountaineer D stiffening on the shortened field. Go figure... 01-wingedeagle

The Mountaineers shot themselves in the foot again on another drive. I hope Brown gets his jitters over with soon. This is driving me nuts... 03-hissyfit

At least they pinned Syracuse @ the 2 on McAfee's perfect coffin corner kick.

Huge play by converted WR Smith to sack Brown for a huge loss--resulted in a punt

Syr pinned back deep at 2--I thought play clock expired

RE: WVU-Syracuse game thread
Mountaineer fans are getting restless. I don't blame 'em. The offense is stinking up the place...

...until Jock Sanders caught that swing pass and made a beautiful move @ the 3 to make the Orange DB miss him so he could walk into the end zone untouched... 7-3 Mountaineers 04-rock

WVU is either executing really poorly, or the play calling sucks...

7-6 Mounties at the half. Syracuse is playing hard and WVU looks like they are a bit out of sync.

If Brown can't step it up, somebody else will. That's the nature of college football...

The offense can't do sh!t, and now the Mountaineers have lost the middle of the defense... 03-banghead

I don't blame 'em. The offensive play calling sucks...

Hey! A first down... 04-jawdrop it only took the whole 3rd quarter for WVU to get one in the 2nd half...

They end up with 2 first downs in the 3rd... on to the 4th with WVU up 7-6

RE: WVU-Syracuse game thread
I'll take it. But the Mountaineer defense came up with a couple of big plays...

That was a DEVINE run - and it came in the nick of time... 17-6 WVU 04-rock

The Mountaineer D stands one more time and WVU takes over on down... game over... 05-mafia

Final score... WVU 17 - Syracuse 6
