What do you think America would be like if there were no requirement to be politically correct?

Universities would have more room for parking, as all the "________ Studies" deparments wouldn't exist. It would also mean lower tuitions since those departments bring in no money and thus currently take a chunk of the state funding.

Without these departments, and with the overall removal of PC, universities would return to their place of learning and research. The students that did enroll would be the motivated ones (not the entitled ones) and the remaining departments and faculty would be more able to teach them. The US would have more talented scientists, engineers, teachers, etc. to provide innovation and a growing economy, AND less personal debt from people paying 4 years of tuition and 4 years of deferred earnings for useless or even counterproductive degrees.

It would sound like message boards.

Without Political Correctness my stand-up comedy career would be over.

We wouldn't have to press 1 to continue in English, Native Americans wouldn't be entitled to have their casinos and plop them in a country within a country and jobs and scholarships would go to those who are qualified to have them instead of being at a disadvantage due to their ethnicity.

And people people would never be able to go to Ivy League schools or become president of the United States based on legacies.

It seems as though all of you only want one group of people to succeed.

I would like to ask, What does African American, Women, International, Asian, etc. Studies enable someone to do?

I always looked at college as a way to prepare me for a career, but I just don't see those as career building studies. What can you do with those degrees other than teach courses in those degrees?

Really, I'm not trying to start a racial or other thing, but what is the value? It is very possible that I am being shortsighted, but I still would like to understand it.

Don't discount the fact that many of these "studies" programs are exactly what some non-profits and NGO are looking for when they hire.

You want to work in the third world as a "Devolpment Strategist?" Some PC studies degrees will open doors for you as fast as a Finance degree.
