Last week Cal said it would be the end of this week at the earliest. We should know something before Nov. 15.

It has gotten to the point where it could start affecting the coaches' ability to plan for the season. I know it has to be frustrating for CAL not to know exactly who will be available when the season tips off in 15 days against Fairfield.

This whole situation is mind blowing. 03-banghead

I agree that it is frustrating but I wouldnt call it absurd. What is absurd is that Simpkins attended 5 high schools in 4 years. Kinda makes it hard to analyze his eligibility if the NCAA has to request stuff from 5 different schools everytime an issue arises with him and they need to check something. Especially when you take into consideration that some of the schools are he attended are probably in the same kind of disaray that the Memphis City Schools are and some are likely(if he went to a private school and/or prep school) the kind of shady institutions that are basically basketball academies or "diploma mills" and prob arent very cooperative when it comes to helping the NCAA because they likely have much to hide.

I attended 6 high schools in 4 years. Of course, my pop was in the Navy, so there was a reason...

Do the MT.org mods have a clearinghouse? If so, I think your transcripts should be checked out. We have too many posters from "diploma mills".

Bailey better hope Kellogg doesn't a secret grudge against him like Cal seemed to have. That was one strange season long episode.

Yeah, we love Clearing Houses ,too!!!

Just a question. It is so late in the season, is Garcia enrolled and going to classes at Memphis? Is he praticing with the team? How long before it's too late to play? This does seem riduculous.

Nobody's. That was never the issue.

I'm not even talking about him being in the rotation at all. But, we had the good fortune of clearing the bench during many blow out games.

When you are left on the bench holding Chance McGrady's warm up shirt while everyone else is playing, then you must have done something to P.O. somebody.

If it was predetermined that he would never play, then why suit him up and sit him at the end of the bench all year long? Poor guy looked like he was locked up in the penalty box.

I like hearing the comparison between J-Rob and PJ Tucker. That guy was a monster. He single handily beat us four years ago, like he did to many teams his last two seasons at Texas. I'm really hoping Robinson turns it on this season and begins to blossom. He has the potential to be a very good four year college player, with a chance at a pro career.

Man, I'm so pumped for this season.

"We need to get a lot of rebounds because we lost Joey, and he got the majority of our rebounds, so I pretty much need to work on just playing defense and rebounding," Robinson said. "Everything else is going to come to you, so you don't need to rush shots or worry about scoring."

Sounds like he has his head on right. If he can get 5 to 7 rebounds a game we will be really good.
