Cal stated today that Garcia and Simpkins Clearing House paper work was just sent in and he should hear something back in a couple weeks. He said he was confident about both players getting cleared.

AFAIK the paperwork was sent in months ago. They are just waiting for it to come back. Practice starts on Friday. I don't think that they would have waited until a couple of days before practice starts to send in their paperwork.

There is a possibility that some of the paperwork was returned for further evidence or clarification. The Clearinghouse (or whatever the heck it's called) can do this multiple times in some cases. So, it is possible that they submitted it on the original deadline but also resubmitted it again recently.

I know all legit paperwork should be cleared or declined before fri.or at least that was what i was told.But i guess if there are Questions on some paper work this could be the case.Cal said he expected both players to be there Friday night just yesterday.I wonder if that is off now?

OK, the eligibility issue with Garcia and Simpkins has entered the realm of the absurd. I knew that the NCAA was completely inept and incompetent at every thing they handle, but a blind monkey could have analyzed their transcripts/ test scores, or whatever the hell they are "looking at".

It has gotten to the point where it could start affecting the coaches' ability to plan for the season. I know it has to be frustrating for CAL not to know exactly who will be available when the season tips off in 15 days against Fairfield.

This whole situation is mind blowing.

I wonder if we'll know before the season ends? You're right. This is beyond ridiculous.
