Dayton
I hear that Dayton is one of the best teams in the conference. What do you think our chances are on Saturday?

Wonder who the quarterback will be on Saturday?

RE: Dayton
with our performances against Div I opponents to date, I hate to say. At this point I think it's not about winning and losing, it's about learning & improving.

RE: Dayton
I'm hoping to see us at least keep it within two scores going into the second half. Dayton is probably either the best or second most talented team in the league. Not to belabor my point from the other threat but it would surprise me if Vollono is not the starting quarterback in this game. From what I've heard he has been back at practice this week. Also from the looks of it C.J. Oates has been running with the first team and will be counted on heavily again.

RE: Dayton
Don't know the details, really don't want to know, but Vollano will most likely start and it will have nothing to do with anyone's past game performances, probably best to leave it at that.
Also not to get back on the subject again but I always heard that most program's unwritten rule is you don't lose your position by game injury, that being when you do get healthy, you get your position back and any competition/comparison measuring thing begins again. By those rules and previous standards when Brown gets well does he start again? Personally I'm pulling for anyone that performs well and can lead the Camels to success. I don't know if keeping the game within 2 touchdowns at the half this week is realistic or not but then I suppose that's being negative. I do know that Dayton is the defending PFL champion, and is probably the most talented team in the league. Our performance against Div I isn't to good to date. Maybe this is the time to turn it around, but its a long tall order.

I read in the newspaper that Vollano will start on Saturday.

I think when Brown is well he should start. He is the best running back on the team and the best offense we had the first couple of games. He is a definite asset to the team.

I always hope for a win but realistically I hope we can keep it within two or three scores as well.

Look forward to listening to the game on Saturday.

Are you referring to Reshaun Brown as the best offensive player? I think you probably meant Carl Smith. He is the team's best running back and offensive player. And yes Vollono will be back starting and from the looks of it Snow is not even on the 2-deep this week according to the notes.

RE: Dayton
The following was posted by a Dayton fan on the PFL board:

"Those not making the trip can go to http://daytonflyers.cstv.com/index-main.html, click on the all-access, register and watch the game free. Not great picture, not great camera work, not great director, but if they get the audio hookup correct, the WHIO radio feed will be there or get your own audio going."

I might give it a try.

The Flyers will be inspired after losing at Duquesne last week. I'll say...

Dayton 42 (at least)
Campbell 10

Smith is still out, isn't he? Hope he'll be back for Butler next week.

RE: Dayton
The offense was really limited today by a good Dayton defense. Another learning experience game. The team just needs to steal one of the Pioneer League games to prove they are capable of doing it.

RE: Dayton
steal one? Could you explain to us how that happens and to which PFL team this could happen with. I think you're right about learning experience, but its a total team game and I don't see any games being stolen on the D-1 level. I would like to think so but I don't think so. The positives in this game are that I thought Dayton would score more points. I think they could have but when it got easy for them in the 3rd period they substitued liberally.I did think the Camels would get on the board with at least a couple field goals. We have a very good placekicker. Next week Butler, and Butler beat Drake today.

I think it is very capable of happening against a team like Valpo or maybe event Butler. For someone that was preaching how positive you are about the team and program earlier you certain got down quickly.

RE: Dayton
camels7778 , I'm a realist. This season wasn't suppose to be about winning and losing, its about learning. We're now playing Division 1 teams, taking freshman and redshirt freshman against well established teams that have upperclassman with experience. What do you expect? I am positive about the team, I think they're learning allot players and coaches alike, but I don't have the expectation that they're going to "steal a win" away from the remaining D-1 schedule. Our best chances for victory were against the D-3 teams. We got a win there.Sure I'd like for us to get another win and exceed my expectations. Maybe our differences are words, when I say "fantastic" after a win , you say "serviceable". When you say "steal a win", I'm simply saying "not likely. "

You are correct I was referring to Carl Smith. My mistake.

No problem. It was good to see Carl make his return on Saturday even if it wasn't the best results.
