Is it safe to assume
that Mauk's college career is finally over? Because without Mauk, and with Grutza apparently out for a significant amount of time (they said surgery on College Football Live), is Tony Pike going to be the answer, or will Demetrius Jones be making his debut?

RE: Is it safe to assume
Wonderful questions. It's not a good situation at all for UC. I know Kelly always seems to have something up his sleeve...but this is pretty devastating.

Even more so since it appears that this conferece is wide open. Even without a proven QB I still feel somewhat ok about Cincy doing very well in conference play.

We'll see.

Now that a judge has refused to issue the order allowing him to rejoin the team, I think it's safe to say that's all she wrote... 07-coffee3

I think Dimitrius Jones will do a fine job. Well I feel sorry for Mauk but I think he'll have better days ahead of him.

I expect a split between Jones and Pike against Miami on September 20th.

Jones doesn't completely know the offense. He'll see only a limited amount of plays, if any.

Pike was Kelly's first choice after Grutza went down. I figure that's who'll get the start... 07-coffee3

RE: Is it safe to assume
Cincinnati simply needs Pike and Jones to go in and not make any major mistakes. They offense might be more vanilla than Kelly prefers but the Bearcats do have enough talent to win some games this year. I think it will have to be the defense that carries the team a lot of the time though.
