Has it started yet (the Big East does not belong in BCS talk)?
I expect to see a lot of articles/talk this week about the state of the Big East.

Let's hope our teams can turn things around starting this weekend.

Of course ESPN's darling, the ACC, hasn't been thrown under the doesn't belong bus yet. How many straight years have they lost in the BCS?

why would there be any such talk considering the BE has won 3 straight BCS bowl games, and we are only 2 weeks into the season?

I don't doubt the media will jump on us if we continue to suck, the way they've jumped on the ACC, but the issue of the BCS bid will not be brought up, and if anybody does they are just completely idiotic.

Exactly, the ACC is taking it on the chin this year.

We need to remember that a few years ago the PAC 10 was being beat by everyone.

Ebb and flow... teams and conferences have good years and bad.

The Big 10 has been taking it on the chin as well, with comparisons to the MAC

If you want to play with the big boys, you've got to take the criticism when you suck...(or add East Carolina!)

I guess you guys missed this, posted in this very same forum last week. And the various testimonials across ESPN's shows about the bad week.
Now about that bad week in which the ACC's better programs challenged and lost to quality schools, it also happened to be the week that the BE went 0-4 against Division 1A/FBS, 3 of them at home to subpar programs.

In the race toward mediocrity (OOC), Big East is leading big time.
ACC: 13-7, 3-7 vs. FBS, 2-5 BCS
Big East: 8-7, 3-7 FBS, 0-3 BCS

As of now, the Big East is just one game over .500, including D1AA/FCS games! And for a schedule that's hardly challenging (just Fresno St, ECU, Oklahoma).
That's hardly going to change the reputation the league of West Virginia and a bunch of schools lucky to be #2.

Give us a call when some one credible joins the conference of unwanted leftovers. Being the league of West Virginia and lucky #2s won't last for long. Even in something as prestigious as the race for worst BCS conference.

Remember Duffner? I do. I was sitting at the 50 yard line because Terp fans were giving tickets away. I suffered through three seasons at College Park.

Maryland fans do not need to be throwing trash around. It has been years since Maryland and Clemson dominated the conference. In fact, Maryland's rule ended with Florida State.

Let us see... we've had more teams win BCS games since the reshuffle than you've had in the history of your conference!

At least the BE has done something on the field over the last 3 years since the reshuffling, and gained the respect of the media and fans all over the country.

This from Maryland that barely beat 1aa Delaware and lost to Sun Belt Middle Tenn.
Priceless

Bingo! I've told people this. At some point we were going to have a down period. A few years ago the Big Ten and Big 12 were down and they took some major crap for it. The Big Ten is taking crap now. We're one of the big boys so lets take it like big boys.

Big East two ranked teams, the ACC one. Your conference sucks and America wants it. As for schools "lucky to be #2", is that that an insult because if it is I can't figure it out. I do know that West Virginia isn't the only school in our conference to go to a BCS bowl game. Louisville went to the Orange Bowl and rolled your champion.

WAAAAHHHH the ACC is a piece of crap conference and now I have to whine about the Big East! WAAAAHHHH!! Try winning a BCS bowl this decade, then come talk to us. At least this "conference of unwanted leftovers" have done that. ESPN seems to like us, they gave us a quarter of a billion dollar contract. Now go support that team that barely beat a Division I-AA team at home. Now that your fat coach has to recruit his own players it's back to the bottom of the crappy ACC where you belong.

Middle Tennessee State 24 Maryland 14. What a power. Poor rferry. The Big East isn't going anywhere and he can't handle it. They'll get smoked in a BCS bowl game again this year. The best part is that there is a guarantee that Maryland won't be going to any bowl games for the next decade.
