Belmont Wins Down the Stretch
The following exerpt is from the Tennesseean this Sunday. Belmont has been really tough down the stretch of the last few seasons. I expect that we'll be good again this year with a ton of returning talent. Next year may be our first rebuilding year in a while. Anyway neat stat from Greg Sage...

Winning Bruins
Belmont's Greg Sage did some digging and discovered that during the final three months (February, March and April when applicable) of basketball season, Belmont has the third-best winning percentage (.857) of all Division I schools over the past three seasons.

Belmont is 30-5 in the past three years with three of the losses to UCLA, Georgetown and Duke. The only two schools with better winning percentages are the two teams that met for the national championship this year — Memphis and Kansas.

RE: Belmont Wins Down the Stretch
Maybe a little tainted statistic when you consider that Belmont plays nearly all of it's non-conference games early in the year. Our "down the stretch" record is inflated because we are playing almost only playing A-Sun opponents.

It does reflect a good bit of our A-Sun tournament success though. I think being a better team this year will have to be done early in the season as the high expectations for late season success have been set.
