Prayers sent and I love that man. He is such a gentle, kind soul who is bright, humble, and fun to listen to tell stories about his life. And as for the MED...there is no place close to it if you are seriously hurt or shot.

Based on the reports of him talking and sitting up, hopefully we are simply talking about time for full healing.

I, too, love Morgan Freeman. What a great man and actor! I just watched the "Bruce, Almighty" two weeks ago, "The Bucket List" last week and "Dark Knight" this weekend with my kids!!! I declared this was Morgan Freeman month after that. Now this! Hope he is going to be alright. Though he sounded healthy and alert, there is always secondary trauma that can occur with folks that age.

Does anyone remember the few short years he was on PBS's "The Electric Company" in the early 1970's??

As a former trauma nurse there, Jeb and eveyone else is correct, it is THE place to be. Now once you are over the initial trauma and ready for a room......get out!!

That is exactly what I was told. They are excellent at trauma horrible at patient management afterwords.

I wish Freeman the best. They just said on TV that he is in "serious" condition, so hopefully he will have a full recovery. The lady, too.

for trauma there is no better place than the med within hundreds of miles. the ep trauma center is ranked 3rd in the nation. you have what most people call common knowledge. in other words you believe the kind of things you hear on fox news.

Tennessee has six Level I (highest level) Adult Trauma Centers: The Med, Vanderbilt University Hospital, UT in Knoxville, Erlanger in Chattanooga, Wellmont Holston Valley in Kingsport, and Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Freeman was taken to the very best place nearest to the accident. My prayers go out for a full and speedy recovery to one of the finest Memphians ever. I am very sorry to hear about this.
