The player who specifically stepped up for the Lasers was Verkeno Mann. Possessing good size and quickness, Mann was able to create for himself and get his shot off. When he did shoot the ball, it usually went in. At one point in time in the second half he hit three threes in a row, and was just unconscious from the field. Overall Mann finished with 25 points, 14 of them in the second half.

Verkeno Mann said his suitors include UAB, Murray State, Bucknell, Lehigh, and ETSU. With more days like Thursday that list is sure to expand.

September, 2007: Verkeno is outstanding deep threat. He has the ability to knock down the long range jumper with efficiency and does not need much time or room to get it off. As he continues to get stronger, he will add the ability to beat people off the dribble to his arsenal.

We recruit to the level of the league we play in.

The A-Suck is a guard league. The good big boys go to the high mid-majors and majors. They aren't interested in playing the A-Suck venues drawing 500-1000 people and riding buses all over the South.

I think the opposite bucten...if any team is able to get in 3-4 good big men with good size they will run ramshod in this league. I will be really surprised if ETSU doesn't sign atleast 2 bigs next year.

Really? Then why do so many of the other teams in the league have Big men? Several do. Look at Belmont last year.

To be clear, I have some criticisms of the ASUN; however, I have seen no evidence that our recruiting has suffered since being in the ASUN. We continue to get talented players, and athletically, I'd put our players against mid-major players around the country.

How many good big men, those that could play at upper mid majors, have been signed by any team in the A-Sun?

Why is it that so many people on this board keep crying and pleading for ETSU to sign some real bigs?

Oh yes, there is absolutely no difference between Zakee Wadood and Dillion Sneed.

The Bucs went from significantly more than 20 victories and the NCAAs to 7-19 after the move was announced and haven't been back to the NCAAs since.

You said it yourself. "I'd put our players against any mid-major in the country."

Just a short period of time ago, ETSU players were BETTER than those in a respected mid-major league, better than what they had at Houston, and just below those at Wake Forest and Cincinnati.

Now, you are comparing them to the guys on Chicago State.
