Dak10 Wrote:O.k., as of tomorrow I will have seen this three times. I feel like it is being overblown a bit by most everyone above.

No doubt a great, excellent movie. I would give it 8 out of 10, but it is no better than LOTR, Star Wars, Godfather, Scarface, etc. I've even enjoyed myself just as much in a Spider-Man (2) movie.

Granted I am a Marvel fanboy, but I grew up obsessed with Batman. Great movie, but the 9. 6 out of 10 IMDb rating it has right now is just crazy.

***************POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT***************

Commissioner Gordon thing felt like a huge hole in the plot to me. I'm going to watch it again tomorrow on the IMAX and think hard to see if I'm crazy or not.

im curious what you mean by gordon being a huge hole in the plot?

There has to be something I'm missing. I will find out tonight. I'll pm you about it if I still think something is wrong and get you to explain it to me.

You are going to see it three times two days and you think EVERYONE ELSE is overblowing it? Interesting logic there

I saw i last night and it was awesome! THE best comic book movie bar none. Heath Ledgers performance was incredible and Christian Bale absolutely plays the best Batman.

RE: midnight showing of the dark knight
I thought it was very good. The Dark Knight had a surprising amount of depth-- it took me a few hours to digest everything, and I finally determined that the movie is very consistent with the philosophy of Immanuel Kant. Those of you interested in the philosophies behind Batman should check out this book: http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Philosophy-...470270306.

The movie was definitely heads and shoulders above the other superhero movies of the summer (Iron Man, The Hulk, Indiana Jones, etc). I still can't make sense of the first subplot (the one that concluded with the highspeed chase and had the twist at the end). It didn't mesh with the rest of the movie (expending innocent lifes and inflicting millions of dollars worth of damage to pull a fast one and capture the Joker). This seems utiliterian to me, whereas the theme of the movie and the character of Batman are unmistakably deontological.

I would recommend not posting things that happened in the movie. It's still opening weekend and now 2 people have posted things from within the movie. Not very nice for those maybe wanting to read some reviews on it without having things revealed to them.

Yeah, if you're going to post spoilers at least put a warning or something.

Not really spoilers. I was intentionally vague, and once you see the movie, you'll see that I didn't really ruin anything.

And you were correct. A huge part of that middle was just odd and it seems out of place in a way. Still a GREAT movie and everyone needs to see it.

RE: midnight showing of the dark knight
Very good flick...imo..the best of all the Batman movies.

As several have stated Heath Ledger stole the show. A tad long maybe at 2.5 hours.

Pretty much family friendly...although violent.

Not a cheesy super-hero movie like most of them are. Interesting character development...This one is riveting...

Our options are limited, but I want it known that I never have to play Robin.
