That's not what he said. He said that Tech was more elite than ULM. He also said that the WAC was more elite than the Sunbelt. You can try and make your argument that Tech isn't more elite than ULM, but you've already displayed that you don't really know what you're talking about concerning Tech. I've highlighted a few of your mistakes but, predictably, you overlooked that.
Like what? Those new tennis courts you're building are laughable. Your track looks junior high. Your football stadium is falling apart. You have no money. Your baseball stadium is sub par. Your budget is a joke.
The WAC is more elite than the Sun Belt in FOOTBALL. That's it. And the funny thing is, that the Sun Belt has progressed since it lost three teams to , you guessed it, the WAC.
Tech is slowly dying in the WAC. C-USA won't take you. The SBC is your only option, and the funny thing is that you've burned those bridges.
And if the WAC is so much more elite, and La Tech is so much more elite, then why did ULL get a bigger conference payout than Tech?
The track isn't even finished and the football stadium isn't falling apart and how do you know how much money Tech has? Have you seen the baseball field lately?
I know that what Tech is doing right now "Major Renovations" are generally upkeep at most schools.
I don't care that the track is not finished. Where's the stadium and press box around it?
The tennis courts look like they belong to an apartment complex.
Tech needs to get a more realistic view of what it is, or actually start raising some money.
With the cost of flights more than doubling, Tech will most likely spend more than 2.5 million just traveling this year.
That's nearly 20 percent of your athletic budget.

I know I was just looking at all the other tennis facilities around some of the other schools. LOL. The only difference is ours are blue. These people are so stupid. Next thing you know our new track will be shorter than everyone elses. You do know that the football field is only 96 yards at Tech.

Fooley, during a Q&A session at a Tech fan rally, with about 15 in attendance, public and news media invited, responded to a question as to whether or not the series would be initiated again with ULM.
Fooley responded "In my mind we are much more elite. We play in a more elite conference. We dont really acknowledge Northeast (ULM). We dont view them as a target and we dont compete with them for players." THAT is what he said.

Members of our conference charge their students either for tickets or an athletic fee, the general cost of football tickets are around $35 or more, they raise funds in the millions from fans to support the programs. Tech doesnt charge in state students for tuition, you dont charge them for tickets, you dont charge them an athletic fee, your football tickets average $15 or so, and the state taxpayer kicks in millions to support your program. How stupid does one have to be to see that leeches do not compare with our programs, we arent on the same playing field, thus you fit just about like O.J.'s glove. I am not saying we dont already have schools that are weak in some areas but we can control the fact that we dont want any more.

So, you bought into the smoke screen too. Schools in the University of Louisiana system DO NOT CHARGE ATHLETIC FEES NOR IS IT INCLUDED IN TUITION. One or two schools have small athletic fees but it is to cover cost incurred and committed PRIOR to the ruling that athletic fees are forbidden. How can it be included in your tuition if you DONT pay tuition?

Techs indoctrinated and delusional fans can feel how they want, thats guaranteed under the constitution. However, PROFESSIONAL ADMINISTRATORS at the university level DO NOT demean or reflect negatively on other schools or conferences. They are professional, they act professional. We have heard coaches say that they are going to beat the pants off someone, etc, but that is claiming victory and not demeaning or expressing an opinion that they are more "elite". Fooley pissed in the Tech cornflakes, he crapped in his own, and he has made his mark and will be known forever as an arrogant and unprofessional person. I an fixin to go fishing so yall have at it.

Alright, if you pay tuition then you are either from out of state or your grade point averagae is so low you didnt qualify for the state waiver and Tech doesnt admit those. Thus, you are from out of state but getting ripped off because even out of state kids arent charged athletic fees. Go ask for your money back and if they wont give it to you just post your effort and results here and we can get you some help. If they included it in tuition then ask how much it was and that is the refund you are due.

I just found out (minutes ago) that Tech does charge a student fee for athletics. It is minimal (not sure how much), and it is not included on the state audit as part of the athletic budget. Half the cost of the new track that is currently under construction is being funded by student fees ($500K of the $1 Million cost). My source is a quarterly magazine that goes out to boosters.

RE: Big rumor to be revealed at Tech's "Happening XVII"
I can't find much info about Tech athletics student fees. I only found 1 article on the internet from 2005. Apparently, Tech students pay $10 / quarter towards athletics ($40 / year x 10,000 students is about 400K year). It's probably not included in the athletics budget because it is part of $25 fee the students voted for in 2005? But, this is still only about 10% of what schools in other states charge their students for athletics.
Here's the article: http://www.latech.edu/techtalk/archives/...hletic.php

Eager Eagle, I think you've said in the past that you work for the state of Louisiana as an accountant? If so, do you know why Louisiana would rather have taxpayers support Louisiana university football programs rather than the students of the universities? It appears this puts all Louisiana schools at a disadvantage to other state's schools.

Raise your own money from sports. Sell tickets, get donations, hold more bake sales, but raise your own money.
It's that simple.
