Emerson might be better than Florence to be honest...I have seen Emerson in action...he is a BEAST! I hated it when I saw he was transferring to Mercer.

BucLover, interesting thoughts, good post. I'm with MercerFan, I'm not nearly as high on Campbell as you are. In your all-conference picks, did you confuse Eric Diaz with Garfield Blair? I like Diaz, good finisher, strong guy, but he might be Second Team All-Stetson let alone all-conference :)

You were probably joking but FGCU couldn't have legally fast-tracked basketball; no FB/MBB/WBB everything else is fair game. Upstate can win in D1, they proved it last year in several sports, they'll be ok in hoops before too long. UNF...please wake up Ospreys, you almost have to try to be that bad. Now that we're all playing them twice if they don't get better quick all our RPIs are gonna suffer for it.

Man KB, you got me a little worried now. I think Florence is one of the best players in the league, and your saying that Emerson could possibly be better?

Emerson is a hard nosed player. He is 6'8" very physical and has great touch around the rim. He will be one of the best big men in the league right away. I am hoping that Mitchell (for KSU) is a good match for him, but I haven't seen Mitchell play...I have seen Emerson play, and he is good. Emerson, Henry, and Florence are going to make for a tough tough matchup for anyone...it would not surprise me to see Mercer win the entire league to be honest. Slonaker left a full kitchen for the new coaching staff.

You're right on Blair, my bad, and I know you can't fast track basketball, which is a shame for the Eagles. As for Mercer, I just think they were a trainwreck last season and will need time to adapt to their new coach. They'll be a different team in February than they'll be in November.
And Fan1, if they tournament was ANYWHERE else, I'd probably have a different feeling, but after the almost borderline criminal officiating that was done during the entire tournament last year I just can't see ETSU being able to pull it off unless they come out shooting at about an 80 percent clip.
