RE: Whatever happened to these Science Hill stars?
Bo Catron - took John Battle to the playoffs in 1987, was promote to principal at Wallace Middle School THE YEAR AFTER, eventually moving to Abingdon High School and now works in the school board office.
Jimmy King - Won state championships in baseball at John Battle, was made principal at Holston High School.
Don Pridemore - another baseball coach/gym teacher turned administrator for winning championships.
Jeff Hawkins - He didn't even win at the high school level, he's now the principal at Abingdon High School.
Sam Blevins - Took Abingdon High School to the state tournament in basketball, was 6-24 as a football coach, was promoted to the athletic director's job at John Battle, then eventually Abingdon. He's now in administration at Chilhowie High School.
George Pitts - Was an administrator at Science Hill before coming to Nashville, and eventually King College.
Dale Burns - former Tennessee High basketball coach who created the Jamocha shake classic, always won with a boring brand of basketball, was promoted to A.D. before moving on to the A.D.'s job at King College.
Lee Brannon - Helped Patrick Henry to several winning seasons in boy's basketball before being promoted to principal, then up to the Washington County School board office. Now, he's one of the top three in Wise County.
Nick Colobro - CURRENTLY the Gate City football coach, serving as an assistant principal and athletic director.
ALL of these people were former coaches, who in one sport or another had a winning record in something. To me it shows an alarming trend in the area that shouldn't be happening. It isn't 1955 anymore. That being said, a used profalactic would make a better president than Paul Stanton has.

RE: Whatever happened to these Science Hill stars?
Dale Burns isn't a principal.
And I don't even think he "always won." Tennessee High was never on a parallel with D-B or Science Hill in hoops during his tenure.
Other than that, an intriguing list, but here's the question.
However, you're missing the point of my Pitts criticism. None of his stars were able to qualify for four-year colleges out of high school.
I'm assuming that the above coaches placed some players into four-year colleges.

Catron did, Jimmy King put a few into college but all of them pissed their talents away. Burns was a member of the school's administration. Colobro has had several, namely Jake Houseright, Chad Beasley and Josh Shoemaker, but still yet, it's more of the norm to see the players of great coaches not get into college. Graham Clark might be the exception, but his players aren't perfect and odor free.

Then they aren't great coaches.
And "everybody does it" is a poor excuse.
