Missing railroad
The abandoned CSX line running from Waring to Cordova is being removed. Rails, ties, and much of the ballast is gone.
Anybody know what's up? Is the city going to put a greenway along that route? Light rail is obviously out.

RE: Missing railroad
Memphis officials came to NOVA and surveyed the old W&OD rail line that was converted into a bike trail- would be a nice plus for memphis.

W&OD Trail Map

you can go 51 miles on the W&OD trail and take the GW trail south 20+ miles along the Potomac to Mt Vernon.. or cross into the city and take the C&O Canal trails all the way to pittsburg-

memphis city officials are real good about going off on nice fact finding trips then coming back and doing nothing except start planning their next fact finding trip

RE: Missing railroad
With the price of scrap metal, it would be worth it to tear up the abandoned lines.

Is that a fact? Or do I have to find out on my own trip?
