RE: Godfather's Pizza
Anybody remember Fat Jimmy's Pizza? I think it was on Mendenhall near Mt. Moriah. I just remember as a kid, that place was my Dad's fav with Shakey's being a very close second.

Shakey's sealed my fate as a video game junkie...I was introduced to Space Invaders there.

Jimmy's is good stuff, I had hot dogs though, no pizza. Best thing about the place is that they have all kind of Chicago stuff on the walls and stuff.

GO Bears!

If Pizzaria Uno would come into the market, they would own it.

It's a newish bar on Broad. They took the old ship bar from Anderton's and put it in there. I hear it's kinda a happnin' place these days.

How is the Broad redevelopment going? This info on the Cove and Broadway seems promising...

Other than those two businesses doing well, I'm not sure what else Broad has in store for the future. I do know there is a very nice building (heading west on Sam Cooper) on the corner of Bingham and SC that recently found a tenant. Splash Creative is in the bottom floor. That's located just behind Broadway Pizza.

RE: Godfather's Pizza
A friend of mine from high school worked at GF's back in the early 80's. My buds and I would stroll in there and get our fill of free beer and pizza. It was good pizza even if we would have paid for it.
Anyone eaten at any of the Mellow Mushroom pizza chains? I travel to Atlanta frequently and I see them all over down there but have yet to stop and try them out. When I have a long drive I try not to eat stuff like that - can make for an even longer drive back - k

Mellow Mushroom is decent, nothing great, we have plenty of them in columbia, sc. They have a lot of good beers on tap as well as in the bottle, but the pizza is nothing to write home about.

I agree . . . If I'm getting a communicable disease (i.e., hepatitis), it's gonna be from something a lot more fun than eating what my friend calls "the ocean's boogers."

The problem might not have been the women. Sounds like your "friend" needed a shower.

There is a Mellow Mushroom a block from the campus in Knoxville. I ate there during the last time I went to Knoxville which was consequently the day I decided to go to the UofM.
