As I was wasting time at work, I found Jorge Posada's foundation website. The Yankee catcher has a son with craniosynestosis, premature fusing of skull plates. Our second son was born with this condition. I personally don't know of others with this birth defect, but the website states that it affects 1 of every 2000 children.

Just found this interesting as it affected our family. Our son is now 8 and doing fine, the effects are minimal.

Both of my kids have Kartagener's Syndrome. 1 in 32,000 births.

I sometimes forget to be thankful that my children are healthy. The only thing that affects my son is littlesisteritis of which there is no cure.

pretty much as described.....lots and lots of upper respiratory problems. They are 30 and almost 34 now. Unfortunately, the symptoms are alot like cystic fibrosis. not fun for them at all......
