Mushu shrimp ("make it spicy") from China Spring next to the Kroger @ Houston Levee and Macon. Pretty decent Chinese food, but the little rice tortillas they give you rip as soon as they get wet from the gravy, so you end up with a mess in your hands.
Oh, and some crab ragoons to go along with.

It is really a beautiful place. While Memphis has a beauty of its own as a city, living there for most of the year really makes me appreciate the beauty of the rural part of West Tn. when I come home for the summer and winter.

Are you by chance related to the Presley's, or did your parents just live on that road?

I still believe that you can take the guy out of the country but you can't take the country out of the guy. I enjoy my times in rural Tennessee more than ever

We had a potluck cookout last night. Everyone brought their own meat to throw on the grill, but I also smoked 2 slabs or ribs to go along with it (sorry, no pictures this time). We had potato salad, corn on the cob, grilled asparagus, baked beans. Nice night by all.

Chicken salad on croissants, shrimp cocktail, strawberries, cantaloupe, grapes, almonds, and lots and lots of wine. 03-drunk In the Garden while watching a great concert with a lot of other people.

No relations. They moved up there in 1980 when he retired. Had to move them back to Memphis in 2001 when they got too frail to care for themselves. Broke my dad's heart and spirit when he had to move back. Some of the finest people I have ever known. I met up from around the farm. I wish we could have talked my dad out of selling the place when they moved back.

I miss simple things like picking blueberries as big as a nickel out in the garden. Muscadine wine that my mom made. My dad's peach. plum, and apple trees. Putting the boat in the TN river at Saltillo.

I once drug a piece of petrified wood out of Mile's Branch that was almost too big to put on the 4 wheeler. Must have weighed 200 pounds or more.

Maque Choux, stir-fried squash & onions and ice tea. We fancy Cajun food and my old woman is a bodacious cook.

Obviously not, 24 hours later and over 35 posts... something must be good about your thread or you're in the favor of the MODS! 05-stirthepot

Got home from the Golf Tourney, went for a run and then headed over to the Half Shell...had a cup of gumbo to start with and then ordered the Old Fashioned Monte Cristo...delicious.
