Gus Gilchrist 6"10 transferring from Maryland to non-ACC school.

I gather from the article that he has sat out half a year after transferring from VaTech. Would he be eligible at his new school in December, like he would have been if he stayed at Maryland?

WOW, all this talk about possible recruits in the "recruiting forum"!? If you need a break, go back to the main board. Or if the thread title says "possible '08 recruit", don't open it. Seems pretty simple to me.
I haven't seen us mentioned with him, don't know if we would recruit him or not. It seems like we are still trying to add players that could help us next year, so if it's possible that he would be eligible, it wouldn't suprise me. We haven't gotten Negedu, Sallie, or Harris yet, and it's very possible that we don't get any of them, so saying we only have room for 13 is kind of moot at the moment.

Yea, this is really not the time or the place to talk about recruiting, especially if it might not happen.

why are we going to throw our names into the hat of 2 even 3 players when we maybe have one or two spots
i personally think pierre niles needs to put up or shut up then you can talk bout adding this guy

You always look for ways to make your team better. We were supposedly in the lead for Ebanks and we see how that worked out. Plus, from what I have gathered, Simpkins and Garcia still have work to do in summer school to become eligible, so we may end up with more than 1 or 2 spots available. Why not throw your name in the hat if you feel the player can help you next year?

He's a 4-star big man who's strengths according to Scout are defensive presence, rebounding and finishing...he is going to petition the NCAA to waive the transfer rule...
