In a roundabout way he's giving Louisville respect as well, basically saying that they're a national program and don't need the extra attention that comes with weekday matchups.

Honestly I think what he fails to realize is our contract with ESPN dictates when some of our games are played.
He does mention the Kansas State game being played on Wednesday 9/17 but with a little research he would have found out that the Ryder Cup is being played that week in Louisville. The Ryder Cup starts the 16th and goes through the 21st.
Then again if he had done his research he would have had one less contest to prove his point.

The comments are amusing at the end of that article. Some seem to think the writer is a trained journalist, but you'll note he writes for Bleacher Report which is an amateur fan site. Hell, I've even written a few articles for them. It's pretty cool, they just announced this new team-up with Fox. If you're interested you might want to create an account with them.

I don't necessarily disagree with him.

As for ESPN and TV in general, they have the right to move a game to a weeknight, but that shouldn't always mean that the schools involved have to bend over backwards.

We'll thats true in the sense that the home viewer will go and watch if its on. On the flip side, those who attend those games regularly either via season tickets, etc. may not enjoy it.

In some cases, is ESPN actually televising the game on TV or is it window dressing while their announcers start the pregame for their best Saturday game on Tuesday night? That's what some of the MAC and other games have become: a place to talk about the upcoming weekend's game instead of talking about the game on the field.

Just one more reason why the stand on the BCS is so much hypocrisy. They say they are doing this to prevent kids education from being disrupted during finals. That doesn't stop them from doing it the rest of the school year.
