I assume he'll have to sit out 08-09, but not sure. I don't readily recall any other player transfering in from another D-1 school in recent years.

Not necessarily. He is seeking a hardship from the NCAA to allow himself to skip the mandatory missed time necessary when you switch schools in division I. No news yet but I'll let you know if I hear of anything.
