The MAC has already "been in bed" twice with Marsha. The league would do better to take either Carol, Jan, Cindy, Alice, or even the dog the next time.

I know that "taking" dogs is common up in Mt. P., but for the rest of us that is just not an option.03-melodramatic

Teams I'd rather have than Marshall

Army
Navy
ND ST
UNI
IL ST

I don't know about ND State or UNI they are too far.

IL St has a design out for an expansion to a 25,000 seat stadium. The number 25,000 is the new de facto industry standard for a mid major in FBS ball, where 40,000 represents "Big Time".

Army/Navy would be so excellent but I can't see them joining. Heck it is rumored Navy rejected an offer to join the Big East. They fear conference play will be too challenging. The MAC should try instead to focus on building a bowl arrangement with the service academies.

I wish the MAC could keep Temple but trim a team somewhere else. As much as Toledo fans envy Marshall's move to CUSA maybe they should be the ones out.

I'd take all those teams except ISU and ND St. ISU does not offer much in football and ND St. is too far. UNI offers lots of success in football and basketball. Plus, they have good baseball and wrestling programs too.

I know there's a chance I'm going to get nailed by a MAC fan or two for saying this on a MAC board, but here goes. As far as football is concerned, the overall talent level between MAC and C-USA schools is probably about the same. However, C-USA has advantages in bowl tie-ins, revenue, television market size, and attendance. To convince Marshall to come back, the MAC would have to overcome those advantages somehow. Just my opinion.

..

No way, no how, and never.

Get a grip MACsters. We don't want anything to do with your Ohio Bus League conference, your pi$s-poor apathetic attendance, and your assshole fans.

We are doing just fine in our new CUSA home; a place where we are respected and challenged. No more of the backbiting, bashing, jealousness and hatred like we received from the MACsters.

This is stupid thread if there ever was one....now go on back to your own little pity party. We will have none of you and your puny league.

RE: Would you want Marshall back as a MAC member to even up the conferences?
=>I would be happy with Marshall back in the league. If only because folks like HerdChemist89 and the other LGIs...I love to hate 'em. The Miami-Marshall football rivalry was some good times. Hatred is fun!

Of course, Marshall failed to even win a share of the MAC East title in the 2 years that the Herd did not have a 1st Round NFL QB. The Herd has basically fallen off the football map in the 2nd half of this decade. As such, if the Herd was in the MAC now, Marshall would a JAT ("Just Another Team"). In addition, although Miami has won or shared the MAC East title 4 of the last 5 years, Miami football really has not been a major Non-BCS force that it was during the Marshall-Miami rivalry days. So the Miami-Marshall rivalry would not be as fun now I guess.

You left out a choice -
no f888ing way.

You call MAC fans a**h*les - well they were when Marshall was in the league.
Absolutely the worst I've ever encountered anywhere.
I'll never forget the semi-toothless male in his 40's standing in the aisle behind the opposing teams bench using every word and gesture in the book - with his 8 year old son standing next to him practicing to be just like his dad.

Good riddance!

rrrrright...and how's that CUSA working out for you? Have you won anything more than you did in the MAC? (That would be a big fat goose egg if I remember correctly.) The only problem you people have with the MAC is that you have such an over-inflated opinion of yourselves that you thought you would come in and win everything in the MAC, and got pissed off when you didn't, so you "took your ball and went home" so to speak. Good riddance I say. Oh, and your post is a shining example of who has the a**ho** fans.
