JC Press Poll
The Johnson City Press wants to know if you think Stanton has done a good job as president. There's a poll on their website.

RE: JC Press Poll
Now WHY in the world would the a.m. authority care what joe public thinks about stanton? are they going to give the results to "somebody" who cares what job public thinks? will they consider the one's that "don't care" as the same as a NO vote like they did for the football fee with students? How about all the people who just plain don't vote, another NO?

RE: JC Press Poll
on the other hand maybe it shows that the community wasn't happy with the current direction of ETSU. I know football dominates this board's concerns with ETSU but I think the concerns are much broader than just football.

RE: JC Press Poll
Absolutely correct. It's a pain because so many people don't understand that football allows for the improvement to schools, it helps foster growth. I think it's a very fair statement that UTK wouldn't be anywhere near what it is without the private giving that football brings. None of the BCS schools would be, and programs like Ga. Southern, Appalachian, Boise State, Montana, Marshall, Southern Methodist, etc... have allowed for their universities as a whole to be put on the map.

RE: JC Press Poll
Usually, the Johnson City Press will print the results of past online polls in the Tuesday paper. But for the last 2 weeks, they haven't decided to show the results of the Stanton poll for some reason. Either they didn't like the results or agreed with us and thought that it wasn't valid.
