Lebron tells his Mom to sit her a** down!?!
Anyone see this from the Cavs/Celtics game last night? Pierce grabbed James on an attempted drive to the basket and tried to hold him from going into the crowd and on comes James' mom to the rescue and James tells her to sit her a** down... Garnett's facial expression his hilarious, lol. Pretty funny to be in the NBA w/your mom trying to protect you on the court.

Happy Mothers Day.

You can take the boy outta the hood, but you cannot easily take the hood outta the man.

Let's start with this.

LeBron is a likeable sports personality overall.

However, does he exibit a behavior pattern/attitude apparently common in the hood?

So because of his opinons on marriage that makes him "hood"?

LeBron is one of the most well spoken athletes there is today.

1) That was the stupidest article I have ever read 3 paragraphs of

2) How is it hood for Lebron to tell his mom to sit her ass down? I would've done the same thing. Get a clue.

If you think that's hood then you have lived a very sheltered life.

It would NOT have mattered to my mother if I made millions and said to her on national TV to sit her arse down....

It would have been my arse sitting down not hers....

Apparently, R E S P E C T for womenhood is not a commonly found trait among some males.

I thought it was rather humorous. I would have done the same thing - I don't want my mother in between a full grown man and me, especially when I'm at work.

But it's not 'hood' attitude, it's just disrespect.

Disrespect for persons and property is more common in the hood than in my neighborunHOOD.

Enroll in a sociology 101course.
Learn the three theories why deviant behaviors occur and return here with your findings.

It may not be common in your neighborHOOD, but it does happen in your 'hood. You can't classify his actions in terms of the ghetto. Have you been to a real ghetto? Now, disrespect comes from everywhere, may it be urban, suburban, or rural - more importantly it's the models of the kids that set the tone. And a sociology 101 class isn't enough to justify Lebron's action. You have to dig deeper than that, or you're just looking into the situation a bit too much.

I don't know a parent on my block who would accept & dismiss or minimize that very public situation irregardless of age, wealth or fame of a son.

Try to imagine a mom at a peewee, popwarner football or little league baseball game tolerating that.

Why should it be any different at any age?

It should never happen, but it happens. Trust me. Like I said in my earlier post, it happens everywhere. It may happen behind closed doors where the public won't see. Children, young and adult, surprises their parents every now with random acts. I really don't think a child in a little league would do that to his mother. You're comparing a child playing in a park district league to an adult competing against professionals - the maturity levels, on most occasions, are completely different. Can adults show disrespect even if they're raised in a stable environment? Yes. Are we running circles arguing about this? Yes. More than likely Lebron's mother gave him a slap to the face after the game - a well deserved punishment.

closed doors vrs public with cameras rolling is a HUGE indicator of poor judgement and ingrained negative attitudes and behaviors reappearing in moments of stress.

I beg to disagree that it's a common event in most families where values and manners matter and are practiced.

EXACTLY MY POINT : Many children in park districts often have more sense & maturity to fear saying what was on public display by LJ.

What if he just wanted his mother to sit down so she didn't get hurt? Since when are you the morality police? If that is your new title, maybe you should get on Dog Fan for his sexual innuendos, or heck, the rest of the members of this site that say some inappropriate things. Bad judgment? Probably. The end of the world? NOPE!

Have you ever said something in the heat of the moment you wish you could take back? Probably not, but just a possibility.

Just heard about this story...100% agree with Cybes...I understand the "heat of the moment" argument...but the bottom line is James' remarks were completely unacceptable. I haven't read any follow up, but a comment from James expressing his apologies and loss of control due to the heat of the moment should have been issued. If I were Lebron or a fan of Lebron I would be utterly embarrassed.
