Buc Tennis in NCAA's tomorrow
Since there is no "Buc Tennis" thread, this will have to go here. Let's not bash the tennis programs here at ETSU. They are great programs run by really committed people. Let's support them against the evil Notre Dame guys (Big East champions) tomorrow, assuming no rainout in Ohio. This would be a nice feather in Zaatini's cap. Match time scheduled for 2 PM.
Also, Enrique Olivares has been selected to participate in the 64-draw NCAA singles championships, the first ETSU player since Zaatini himself.

Well, with ETSU's team loaded with good Catholic boys from S.A., that wouldn't be very logical, would it? It's more of the old Lindsey Nelson crap from way back when. ND fans are among the few groups out there worse than UT fans - claiming the "we" designation even if they've never even been in the state.
[Sidenote: Nelson was from Tennessee, and I always detested his "...now we move to further action in the second quarter....."-type announcing. Although he was an iconclast, he was also a buffoon, imo.]
"Evil" was hyperbole......one of your standard tricks, as you know.....
Discussing Catholicism vs. Protestantism would be a tangent far too afield and far too deep for this board.........

Yeah, that's what I meant when I posted. I wanted a discussion of various faiths.

RE: Buc Tennis in NCAA's tomorrow
Better places to go for that than this forum..........I'm not going to help you out - that would take too much out of the year......
........oh, ok.......I'll just throw in this tidbit........
Check out the DNA evidence of the American Indians relating to the fiction written by Joseph Smith (apparently he actually copied or borrowed heavily from an unpublished manuscript of a friend, or friend of a friend, back in NY).
The Book of Mormon is fiction, pure and simple, and has pretty much been proven beyond any reasonable doubt. This video is 49+ minutes, but to anyone interested in this sort of stuff, it's fascinating.
There; discuss amongst yourselves.........

does that mean that I can't watch "Big Love" anymore and count on them to dispell the myths of plural marriages??
Good luck to the Buc tennis guys, or as they say in the lockerroom: La buena suerte a los tipos del tenis de Buc

Or you could just watch South Park reruns.
"Joseph Smith was a prophet. Dum-Dum-Dum-Dum-Dum!"
Still, I'm not much for attacking religions unless they are inspiring one to fly planes into buildings or sacrificing family pets.

If it's anything like I feel he's tired of Notre Dame getting shoved down on our throats on television. I wouldn't be suprised if they were either ranked or recieved votes in the preseason football polls this year.

RE: Buc Tennis in NCAA's tomorrow
The matches were pushed back to Saturday, 2 PM. There were always conflicting statements about the date, with some sites saying the 9th and others the 10th. ETSU's site had the 9th, until today........

You mean how christianity inspired the slaughter of thousands during the crusuades? Or inspire some to refuse medical treatment for their children? Come on fanatics reside in every major world religion.
The reason I hate Notre Dame is not because they are a catholic school, its because of their sense of entitlement and the special treatment they are given by the media and the NCAA.

Bad news. The match with Ohio St. moved indoors, into *their* indoor facility. That's now an extreme home-court advantage..........

RE: Buc Tennis in NCAA's tomorrow
Ohio St. beat Notre Dame at the end of March 6-1, and has beaten Georgia 4-1. They've also beaten Wake Forest (who handed ETSU one of their defeats) 5-1. Their only loss was to #1-ranked Virginia, so although there may be some close matches, ETSU's chances were slim, even before moving the match indoors......

Gosh one call tell they're battling, but losing the first set in all the singles matches is just too much to overcome; likely some home-court advantage showing strongly there.......

RE: Buc Tennis in NCAA's tomorrow
It's over, 4-0, but every second set was very close except Pedrag's at #3.
First set scores, in order: 6-3, 6-0, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, 6-2.
Second set scores, in order: 6-6 (dnf), 5-5 (dnf), 6-1, 7-6, 3-2 (dnf), 7-5.
(Ohio St. scores all listed first)
Ohio St.'s guys sure have impressive pedigrees if you read their bios.
Once again, congratulations on a great season guys, and THANKS to the seniors (especially) for coming to ETSU!!!
