Entertaining movie. You guys should check it out. It would impossible in today's partisan climate, but it's based in fact. Any of you Texans on here from the 2nd district?

RE: Charlie Wilson's War
My company had are semi-annual ISO audit last week, our auditor is ex-CIA. He said that the movie is one of the most factual movies he has seen about stuff that went on while he was there. Take it for what it is worth... I plan on seeing it, but haven't yet.

I saw it, its entertaining and tells important history. Its also a hack job trying to give a Blue Dog Dem credit for something, Charlie Wilson himself has been calling them on that.
good read separating the "fact from fiction" in it

the ending is good, funny to hear the audience laugh at the "we f'd it up" line, when presumably many of them want to do the same thing again. They left then after the Soviets fell, and it paved the way for the Taliban(or as they called them in the movie, "the crazies") to march right in and set up their terror haven in the early 90's. and of course no mention of our key ally, the leader of the Northern Alliance, who ended up being assassinated a few days before 9/11 for obvious reasons.

Yeah...I wonder how many times in history a govt. bureaucrat has mumbled the words..."we f'd it up"? ...So goes the history of government.
