RE: Who has the nicest facilities in the BEAST
NOTE: Administrators may want to limit the size of some images to reduce server overhead, and allow those with vision problems to get an entire image on the screen. Larger images take space on the server (if stored there), time to load, and 1600x1200 images don't fit well on older monitors (duh), or screen resolutions set for vision problems. Some of us have older eyes. Even more have older technology.

Don't y'all think the NCAAbbs experience should be enjoyable to all without difficulties related to health, screen resolution, or connection issues?

There are plenty, even a few in the BCS level.

Do tell.

Our State of the Art Weight Training Machine in our new weight lifting center (a groundbreaking joint agreement with the Super 8 on Jones Rd.)

Our returning Lineman showing off our new expanded Football Stadium

Our Football Team and Cheerleaders getting treatment after another tough Big East game

Seriously, I'd post Syracuse facilities but our AD website lacks most of the facilities online to grab an easy link.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Work crews have begun the process of disassembling the 14-year-old scoreboard at the WVU Coliseum. The Mountaineers will have a new scoreboard and lighting in place for the 2008-09 academic year. Once commencement is completed in mid-May, work crews will perform the bulk of the work on the scoreboard and lighting project.

“They are doing some preliminary stuff now,” Associated Athletic Director Russ Sharp said. “We have reached an agreement with the folks that are planning commencement about removing some of the lights. The majority of the lights will still be in there – the ones that actually provide the lighting. The up-lighting – the ones that give a gold tint – those will be gone.”

When the lighting project is finished sometime in August Sharp predicts the atmosphere for events at the Coliseum will be significantly enhanced.

“It will greatly improve the light quality in the Coliseum. They will also be adding some lights similar to what you would find in an NBA arena,” Sharp said. “Of course our new lights will have the capability of going to all-black for introductions by using shutters.”

In addition to lights and a new video board, the Coliseum floor will also be redesigned.
work continues apace...

A number of schools, particularly in urban areas, simply aren't going to add the kind of major aquare footage facilities others do--think of schools like Georgia Tech, Northwestern, Arizona, Temple...even Boston College is fairly landlocked on athletic space right now.

What does that have to do with IMPROVING/UPGRADING facilities?

Ga Tech just spent the last 7-8 years upgrading their football stadium.

The land is the same...but the final product is better/improved and even bigger.

I just think you misunderstood what it meant by "arms race"...which basically means "improving" your athletic facilities in VARIOUS ways.

Not having land to expand is one thing...but even those you listed (UA, BC, GT, etc...) are still spending MILLIONS of $$$$$ "upgrading" their current facilities.

KnightLight is correct - look at the UC pictures in this thread. Not a whole lot of space but nearly every facility (except for basketball) is either new or has been significantly upgraded in the last several years.
