Now your talking B10 size and a great NY/ NJ market gain for the B10 and their B10 network. Expansion is expensive and risky but the dividends of a SECURE MONEY MAKING CONFERNCE are worth it in the end. Build it and they will come and so will the money in the end.

In the mean time Rutgers should get four B10 games on their schedule a year to ease their way into the B10 including the big names like Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Penn State. Play two away games and two home games. They already play Indiana, Michigan State, and Illinios. All they need besides these teams to complete the cycle are Purdue and Northwestern then. If they have to play Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State at the Meadowlands UNDER THEIR OWN TERMS - they control everything as if it was at Rutgers Stadium - until they get the campus stadium up to 80K maximize the crowds then do so. They other B10 schools could play at Rutgers stadium for the second home game. The fifth game can be rotated between Army and Navy and Rutgers scheduling problems are taken care of for now.

Once Rutgers is in the B10 they can continue to schedule Army, Navy, and a mix of BE and ACC schools to fill out their local OCC schedule. Rutgers won't need ND then, just like they don't need ND now. Screw ND and their ARROGANT ATTITUDE. 04-jawdrop 02-13-banana 03-nutkick 04-rock

Risky gamble for the Knights. If Delaney & the Big 10 aren't interested then they've alienated the rest of the Big East.

Not risky at all...as their fellow Big East Members know they will never kick RU out...as long as they continue to bring in BIG TV numbers from the NYC market.

RU would hold all the power cards...and the Big East would just "hope" they wouldn't jump to the Big 10.

Big East can never "threaten" RU into action.

Did anybody hear Colin Cowherd talk about this today? I laughed out loud when he essentially equated Notre Dame to Bon Jovi - capable of filling some stadiums but largely living off of past glory and the last time they were remotely relevant was the 1980's.

I agree. :iagree: Besides how can you alienate a conference that is totally alienated anyway. ND has its own agenda. The BB schools have their own agenda. And don't tell me that schools like Cuse and Pitt don't have the B10 on their agenda. There is nothing wrong with playing 3 or 4 B10 schools. As a matter of fact playing B10 schools is certainly better than playing MAC (Little 10) teams and 1AA's. Rutgers should continue to set its goals high and shoot for a more stable conference with bigger payouts from the conference funds. :bcs: If they don't make it, the steps taken in the process with further stadium expansion and stronger OOC schedules will only make them stronger for the BE anyway. Don't tell me that the other FB schools wouldn't make the jump to a stronger conference too. The only one who wouldn't see the light or watch this going on right under his nose is the ND Trained Goose. 03-melodramatic He would still be blind sided after watching the process for years like he was after he personally offerred the FB schools on a silver platter to the ACC at one point and then cried wolf when some of them did leave. 04-jawdrop Rutgers has to keep its options opened while others in this conference continually cave into Notre Lame. 03-banghead 05-stirthepot 03-woohoo

Louisville is investing to much money into football to not to expect improvement from the overall Big East football image. In fact, the only Big East school not improving its football facilities us Syracuse. Even Memphis, ECU, UCF and Southern Miss are expanding and improving their football facilities. So there is indeed a new all-sports conference in the works. Trained Goose knows it and he is scared because the new sets ups will not be favorable to his beloved Providence. 04-cheers

Wilkie you are offbase--while not expanding the Carrier Dome for obvious reasons we have two indoor football facilities and a state of the art weight training facility.

More Stuff Coming Like the Melo Center then a total renovation on Manley for Football

RE: RU/ND nixed
Wilkie Syracuse is playing catchup--however, the school possesses a good base of facilities. The Dome is locked in to its current footprint. The next step would be a new facility but until the Orange get in the top 2 again in the conference and get the bandwagoners back it won't happen.

They have upgraded some amenities in the Dome--more luxury boxes, video boards, locker rooms, etc...but the Dome is still a barebones 1978 designed stadium. The AD has pumped alot of money into improving practice and training facilities. Additionally he has spent money to hire some of the best coaches for the money in the nonrevenue sports. SU Ladies BB is getting close to challenging the top 2--when that happens the sport might actuallly make a small profit. SU Mens and Womens Lax are both top 5 programs. SU is starting a womens hockey program and they grabbed a Final Four caliber coach from hockey power St Lawrence. SU XC and track especially the distance events are starting to make noise nationally. Dr. Gross is making SU more well rounded in sports. Personally, I would dump more money into football but he is a skilled fundraiser. My hope is within 10 years we announce a new outdoor facility with a retractable roof.

I agree. :iagree: Providence would really be screwed if the FB schools left and took Nova and G'town with them for their respective city markets. If they take Notre Lame too all of the remaining schools would be screwed out of an auto bid and have to scramble to other conferences setting off major BB conference rearrangement. 05-stirthepot 04-cheers
