Nice story from Rutgers FB schedule change (Hoya related)

When Rutgers took on the Fresno St. game and had to cancel the game against Howard, Georgetown snapped up the opportunity and will play Howard in a home-home series starting this year. The schools had not met before on the gridiron despite both schools being located in Washington DC.

It's good for associates to help each other out. It makes the world go 'round.

It is great that this situation ended up working out for Georgetown and Howard. Rutgers dropping the Bison before signing a contract like that was unfortunate, if not downright inconsiderate, in my opinion and I am glad to see the Hoyas step up to start what will hopefully become a classic rivalry game for Washington DC.

Umm, not exactly. The two schools were already signed before Howard bumped Georgetown out of the date and (briefly) scheduled Rutgers. They moved the Georgetown game a week later.

So I guess this wasn't a case of a football school and a basketball school in the conference helping each other.
