For the second time in 3 years, ETSU has swept the Vols!

Pitching has been our undoing this year. Lots of young arms, which does make me hopeful for the future.

We sweep UT, but can`t have a winning record in the A-Sun????????

Seriously, though, what this means is the back of the Vols pitching staff stinks, though it might not be any better than ETSU's if 10-0 becomes 11-9!

Now, is this enough for Skole to keep his job? I say no, but I my little birdie's information isn't real good.

I don`t think Skole is getting the boot, heck has Mullins ever fired a coach?

I do not believe Mullins has ever done it. I do like wins over UT though.

The last ETSU coach I can remember being fired was Alan LeForce, and I think officially it went down as a resignation (yeah, right!).

However, let me ask you what coach he has had CAUSE to fire?

I believe the Warren contract extension was an effort to take more control of the athletic program. What else could it be? I'd love to think that he was trying to hold Warren to a higher standard with the money he makes and the facilities he has to say "HEY! LOSING TO NORTH FLORIDA IN THE CONFERENCE TOURNEY IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! GO WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ALREADY!" but I don't think that was so.

Bartow wasn't going to get the axe, even after the 7-19 season, because that was two years after Mullins had hired him. For Mullins to get rid of Bartow then would have been an admission of failure on his own part.

This is different. Skole isn't a Mullins hire. Skole has been putting up losing seasons since joining the A-Sun. Skole was SINGLED OUT by Mullins in a newspaper article as a fall guy for the softball fiasco.

I don't keep up with baseball, to me it's like watching paint dry.....but I thought the A-Sun was suppose to be a decent baseball conference? Anyway, anytime we can beat a major school in anything, that's a good thing.

I don't keep up with basketball- to me it's like watching cars rust- but the A-Sun took major hits competitively when UCF and a number of other schools dropped out.
