But that might explain why it was reported that the Big East presidents held their noses when voting "Yes". 05-stirthepot

Neil,
I can't understand why the ACC wouldn't take your school instead of VaTech. With the elitist attitude you Syracuse folks would fit right in. 05-stirthepot

Jurich is NOT just the AD. Jurich is Vice-President of Athletics. That's why whenever he makes a hire, decides to spend money, change conferences, he is a committee of one. He has hired three football coaches and all three were hired the next day. He replaced a hall of fame icon basketball coach with a future hall of famer. It took him less than a week to pull that off. Tom is always prepared. He keeps a list of his next hire. Two years before Kragthorpe took the football job. Tom was introducing him to Louisville boosters as "Louisville's next football coach" at Derby events.

I believe the presidents held their noses because the stench from the cowardly BC and VaTech administrators was yet to clear the room.

I don't think he's having an elitist attitude at all, all he's telling you is that Louisville getting into the Big East wasn't a one-man, Tom Jurich show. If the Big East presidents didn't like Louisville's president you guys don't get in. That's just a fact. I mean, you can take a shot at Syracuse all you want but omni is making a logical point. I guarantee that Louisville didn't get into the Big East because Tom Jurich said so. Louisville accepted the Big East invitation because the school PRESIDENT thought it was a good idea. That guy may have been given a ton of power but I have a hard time believe that he is a committee of one. If Louisville is a one man athletic administration you guys are in a hell of a lot of trouble down the road. You're telling me that Dr. James R. Ramsey is just a figure head that he answers to Tom Jurich? A president answers to a vice president!?
