RE: Conferences Revenues and Expenses
I'll prefer The BEast when the new TV contracts take effect. The money will be a bit more evenly distributed among the BCS conferences. The contract following that should even things up even more, if The BEast's successes continue. This year is a golden opportunity.

The BEast's BCS conference OOC games...

UC:
Oklahoma
(if UC wins this game, their season will be made... so will The BEast's) 03-nutkick

UConn: Virginia, Baylor, UNC
(UConn should win all 3) 04-bow

UofL: Kentucky, Kansas State
(if UofL bounces back, they should win these games... it all depends on the rebuilding effort) :muttering:

Pitt: Iowa, Notre Dame
(Pitt should win both games, but remember, Wanny is coach. I never thought I'd say this... Go Pitt!) 03-banghead

Rutgers: Fresno, UNC
(RU should win both) 02-13-banana

USF: Kansas, NC State
(USF should win both) 04-cheers

Syracuse: @ Northwestern, Penn State, @ Notre Dame
(SU could lose all 3... could win all 3... I'm betting losing wins out, with the possible exception of Northwestern) 01-lauramac2

WVU: Auburn, Colorado
(WVU could make a major statement this year... Nobody's expecting it) :ncaabbs:

If The BEast wins these games (discounting Syracuse. I expect the Orange to lose 2 or 3), especially UC and WVU, The BEast's legacy will be secure for another season. Then all we'll need to do is take care of business during the bowls.

I think we're in good shape, and if we do well OOC the media won't be able to denegrate. Imagine that.

Better yet, if these number are right, and they just feel like they are not (especially for the MWC), then why isn't CUSA a BCS conference?

What makes the Big East #s even more impressive is that fact that this is not only before our new, monster contract kicks in, but those are the numbers after our television deal was sliced. Now the Big East's football contract will be doubled and the basketball deal will get a boost and you add those increased numbers to our current numbers, the Big East could be hanging around the 70 million dollar mark.

That will put the Big East right on par with the Pac-10, which is great, although both leagues still have a lot of work to do to catch up to the Big 12. The important thing, though, is that the future is looking quite bright at this point in time.

I agree. The Big East has come a LONG way from a conference which had its BCS status in doubt, a downgraded television contract and possibly revenue issues. Now, the Big East is at least hanging with another major BCS conference and on the heels of another BCS conference.
