It was the only way for Memphis to become relevant again. Part of the deal with winning is you have to accept that everyone will think of the program as garbage when led by Calipari.... who cares?

Poor, cute little Illini fan with no evidence but a mouth full of bitterness, a typical fan from a jealous school on the skids. So here's the deal Ace: name one NCAA violation Cal has ever been convicted of. Oh, and don't mention the Camby investigation: the NCAA specifically exonerated him in its ruling. So, have at it. What else has he done, except beat out your overfunded, overrated and generally mediocre school for the top recruit in your state for the past decade? What has he done other than help the dis-advantaged here in Memphis, those who cannot help themselves? What has he done other than stage coaching clinics attended by an excess of 400 coaches from the high school level to the NBA? What else has he done other than excel? What do your base your charges on, other than obvious and pathetic jealousy?

Be specific, please. Otherwise, you're just another dimwit who cannot accept the fact that the world does not owe your school a place in the Final Four.

Honestly, If you read the sky was falling sounds like you would run for cover!

The problem here is not what you don't know but what you think you know that ain't so.

If this were true there would be no Coach Cal winning 38 games in a season. I know your posting was just trash talking but are you really this naive? Not everyone is going to love Memphis but for Memphis fans nothing feels better than having Cal as our coach.

I'm sorry your world is spinning out of control but hey we Tiger fans are well grounded with reality - The tigers are for real!

TigerBill. Well said sir. That was so very much better than my "STFU". I bow to your eloquence.

Dude can still STFU though. 03-wink

I'm just making the reasonable point that it's funny Memphis fans in this thread are whining so much about other fanbases not respecting their coach when they knew that would be the case when Calipari was hired.

Tigerbill listed many great facts you need to read about your reasonable point about Coach Cal as a cheater. You have no proof to back up this statement. My question to you is why are you here? Take your snake oil garbage back where you came from and hiss in your own pit.

I think you are quite confused. what's wrong in the would is poverty, bigotry not to mention stupidity. Everyone deserves a second chance especially when the first chance was never there.

I'm so sorry you feel that only the cream of the crop should be allowed to play basketball and any one who has issues should be banned from college sports.

How are you going to explain that to the man standing at the Pearly Gates when your game is over?

I'm sorry but when someone makes a profound impact on someone life that my friend is what we all should try and do. Coach Cal is doing it one player at a time. His mission in life is not just basketball. For those of you that have not followed the real Coach Cal you missed out on something quite special.

800? No need to let facts get in the way of the truth.

Actually, in 2007 we had 392 homicides in Philadelphia. Obviously, not a great number...good enough to rank us #21 on the Most Dangerous Cities in the U.S. list. Cities more dangerous on that list? Detroit (1), St. Louis (2), Oakland (4), Birmingham (6), Memphis (8) and Little Rock (13).

Memphis has more property crime, Philly has more violent crime. The latest (2006) FBI uniform crime report had Philly with 27.7 murders per 100K, and Memphis with 21.6.

That's to be expected since Philly is 4x larger than Memphis, I suppose. The point is both cities have their problems and it's ridiculous for citizens of either one to denegrate the other based on violence.

Crimes per 100K is a statistic that can be compared between cities of any size. Population is already taken into account.

you're assuming that those players/community/boosters/etc will not be affected if it wasn't for Cal. There would be a likely better coach in his position otherwise.

Not sure why I'm catching any grief

I'm well aware of all the haters. My point is the truth about Coach Cal that is unknown to these fans. And yes fans of other schools hate others who do better during the year. The dollars lost from not advancing in the NCAA is too much money for these big time schools to lose. the media is behind most of all the negative crap and it's all hear say. As an educated person I find it hard to believe these fans from "better schools" believe in all the unproven hear say.

Now one point might be is that these schools know how to get to the top and getting there is not quite legal. Maybe this mirror has two faces.

And yes we have many trolls coming over here venting their sour grapes. Your information is nothing new to us Tiger Fans.

Given the opportunity there are many schools that would take Coach Cal in a heart beat and stand behind him just as we do.

So why are you here? We Tiger Fans had a great year and the future looks outstanding.

what reasonable opinions? again, you havent said anything that has even a smidgen of credibility as to what Cal has done wrong.

If its so easy to bust Cal doing this, why has nobody done it in the over a decade he's been coaching in college? Foolmer did it at UT and busted Bama, surely out of 300+ other coaches one would actually spend some time and investigate if something was wrong. but NO

go back to your own board whiner

As with most dimwits, you avoid all questions, have no facts and continue rambling on using opinions that no one gives any validity. Like methane rising from a landfill you smell bad, have no substantive form and dissipate quickly.

I do read other boards as well and I do find some well informed posters. The ACC should be taken with a grain of salt and the SEC is way out in left field. During the year poster from Georgetown, Gonzaga and Kansas came over to our board were some of the best fans to share true basketball and not belittle everyone who had a different take.

My guess from your postings is that you do not view Coach Cal in a favorable view. If so, was this from something he did that affected you or was your opinion formed from reading message boards? I'm really trying to understand how one develops these type of feelings
