I don't like people who hate Notre Dame.

I don't like people who have animosity towards the Catholic Church.

I don't like people who don't care about the fans in South Bend.

We are even, then. Ain't life grand? :)
If you wake up on the green side of the grass, it's a great day. And I don't mind that you don't like me. You can't please everyone. 04-cheers

Oh, I agree, Bit.

Every day is a great day to be alive. I am over 50, so I know that for sure.

I really don't dislike you, I was just reacting to your anti-ND post.

BTW, I root for WVU quite a bit, as I grew up in Uniontown, PA about 25 miles from the WVU campus and I have had lots of friends and family graduate from WVU.

Have a good Saturday.

Moot point, Jones said his piece and Notre Dame and their fan will have to deal with it. And nobody cares about Notre Dame's "tradition".

You're going to have to deal with that. Can't change that one. It's a moral imperative. Sorry. 04-cheers

At least we can agree on rooting for WVU. 03-woohoo

RE: Demetrius Jones on Notre Dame
I wish Demetrius Jones well. He is a good kid. I think he can have a good career.

I do think he could have handled his exit better prior to the Michigan game, but he is a young kid. No big deal.

I wish Zach Frazer well too at UConn. I thought he and his Dad handled his departure from ND with a lot of class.

The truth is that neither kid was going to win the starting job from Jimmy Clausen (and now ND has a five star QB from California named Dayne Crist coming in August).

I wonder if either will enjoy being a backup.

That is what they both would have been at ND.

I would have liked for Demetrius Jones to move to WR and have Frazer around for depth, but the truth is that neither was ever going to beat out Clausen.

Some of you are so blinded by ND hate ('88 title, Catholic school, ND tradition, etc. etc.) that you refuse to see anything but what makes you justify your hate. WWJD? Not hate. Anyhew, about the 20 year old kid who has an obvious bitter taste in his mouth; I was just questioning his "manlyness" by taking cheap shots at this former team, that's all. I am not saying he is totally wrong, nor am I saying he is right. BTW, I have said in my former posts (look them up) that I was on his side, but he should avoid talking about his former team, it makes him look bad, and it contradicts his manhood statement.04-cheers

What does a national title from 20 years ago, and tradition from 20 years ago have to do with anything? It just sounds to me like you're backed against the wall and you don't have an argument, so you use the weak copout of "everyone is jealous of this school". Now lets get back to you explaining how Jones made his injury worse at Cincinnati even though Notre Dame didn't know about the injury? I love how you say you sided with him then you question his manhood. Calling someone out doesn't necessarily do anything to your manhood.

By the way, remember this post you made?

When someone stresses "As a man", it always translates to self doubt.

I could use that for you. When someone stresses the "greatness" and "tradition" of a school it always translate to self-doubt and concern about your current school's standing. Afterall, why would you post about Notre Dame's "tradition" when we're just talking about a QB who transferred from there?

Dude, you are trying to twist what I said. Tradition is there. How many Heisman's, titles? That has NOTHING to do with Jones. People who were alive during those years hate ND because they were king s**t. Jones quit before he even let things play out. Im sorry but a 20 year old kid doesn't need to be running his mouth about how he is a man for transferring. What does that have to do with anything? I am not saying I know what the tear looked like. If you read my whole post u would have seen that. Tears can happen over years before they are big enough to be noticed. That is a FACT

I still wish Jones the best even though I don't think he handled it the right way (even now) but I think he sounds a little cocky for a guy who didn't play well and quit. He would have had a shot later, but patience is a virtue that many kids don't have yet. I was mad when it happened because I thought he would have been better for that team last year. He prob agreed with that but pulled the trigger too quick.

TerryD Wrote:Yeah, 19-6 and two BCS bowls prior to last year really equals "suck".

Yep, 3-9 last year really blew chunks. I don't expect to see similar bad numbers in the future.

Weis has sought advice about his coaching, made significant changes (including giving up play calling) and hired Jon Tenuta in the off season.

The past three years in recruiting rankings, only USC and Florida have out-recruited ND. There is a lot of young talent being stockpiled.

Jimmy Clausen is healthy this year and has almost a year's playing time behind center to build upon. If the offensive line can be stabilized, Clausen along with James Aldridge, Robert Hughes and Armando Allen at running back and David Grimes, Duval Kamara, Golden Tate and incoming freshman Michael Floyd at wide receiver can do some damage and score some points.

It just might be the coast-to-coast fan base, number of national championships, Heisman Trophy winners, All-Americans, etc, history, legend, tradition, mystique, etc......that causes the networks to line up to televise ND football.

My statement was largely tongue and cheek. I know you'll be on the road back soon. I'd look for 7-5 this year, and an upward climb in the coming years, assuming Butterpants can coach all that talent he's pulling in.

I actually want to see the Irish do well, so that you don't end up hiring Kelly away from us 03-lmfao

RE: Demetrius Jones on Notre Dame
I don't think the fat man is going to make it as a head coach. He's been elevated to his level of incompetency. If he was any good, ND would NEVER have gone 3-9 with the talent he had on board when he took over. Time will prove it.
