What about something specific to Kent or KSU that would be recognizable to people who spent time in Kent.

I read a little about the history of Kent and KSU in Wikipedia. A bit of trivia I picked up. Kent, the city, was named for Martin Kent, who was instrumental in bringing the Atlantic and Great Western Railroad through the village of Franklin Mills. To honor Martin Kent, the village was renamed Kent. Martin's son William donated the land that would become the site of Kent Normal School in 1910. The school was named after William Kent and is the only public university in Ohio to be named after an individual.
Ten cages of black squirrels, brought from Victoria Park in London, Ontario were released on campus in 1961.
In 1949 Kent was proclaimed The Tree City of Ohio and was the first tree city.
In 1967, KSU became the first university to run its own independent and student bus service by establishing Campus Bus Service.
The discovery of LCD was named by Forbes Magazine to be one of the 85 innovations that change the way we live today.
In 1995 Kent's tap water won first place in the Toast to the Tap International Water Tasting and Competition.
