reenactament in Gettsberg on july 4 weekend, there must be couple thousand people walking around for couple days in full gear. you walk around in street cloths & feel like your in the movie time machine.

Now that I have your itinerary--if you want to camp and go see an amusement park--you need to check out Darien Lake. It is about an hour east of Niagara Falls off I-90.

I do not know if you are a museum fan, Mike, but no one has mentioned the Museum Mile on Fifth Avenue. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim, and Cooper-Hewitt Museum of Design are the most prominent.

There is also the USS Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum located on Pier 86 to the west of Times Square. I know you're an Army guy, and this was a Navy ship, but there are a lot of good military history exhibits there.
