Black Saturday
Thursday and Friday were great. Yesterday, not so much! Man we better win'em all today or face the calls of "overrated!" coming from the masses. I have confidence.

RE: Black Saturday
Georgetown just pulled off a monsterous choke job and butchered my bracket. Hibberts disappeared in a big game fouling out with only 6 points when Georgetown needed offense.

Hibbert also got schooled by the big man on Memphis. He doesn't play like a high draft pick in big games.

You're right. He struggles BIG TIME against athletic big men and smaller big men. When you're dreaming of being a first round pick you have to manhandle smaller players and outsmart athletic players.

Big time choke jobs by UConn and Gtown. Although Marquette lost to Stanford they played pretty well. Pitt played a mirror like team and lost. Villlanova and WVU in the sweet sixteen! Louisville can salvage an otherwise somewhat poor showing by the Big East. Also ND was terrible.

RE: Black Saturday
Disappointing for sure but with the Villanova win over Clemson and the WVU win over Duke at least that crowing won't come from the ACC. Always look on the bright side of life.

There were a few Cinderella story upsets in there with the crowds going for the underdogs (UConn, Georgetown) and sometimes that stuff just happens. I did expect more from Pitt and ND. Marquette had the victory within their sites. I think what we are seeing is a conference with great depth but few (if any) truly outstanding teams. I think most here probably already knew that.

4 BE teams seeded for Sweet 16. 3 make it. The BE will need something special to get a team into the Final 4. Louisville getting there would make the world right again. Let's not count Villanova and WVU out quite yet.

Sweet 16

BE - 3 teams
Pac 10 - 3 teams
Big 10 - 2 teams
Big 12 - 2 teams
SEC - 1 team
ACC - 1 team
CUSA - 1 team
A10 - 1 team
Southern - 1 team
Sun Belt - 1 team

IMO the only big surprise here is W. Kentucky.

G'town loss was a big surprise. It is softened a bit by the nice run Nova is putting together. Pitt's loss was a surprise as well.

RE: Black Saturday
Davidson is good, especially when Dell Curry's son is hitting his shots, but beating Georgetown in the second round is a huge surprise. Western Kentucky making the Sweet Sixteen is actually less of a shock than them, considering the match-ups, in my opinion. As for the Big East, it wasn't just a Black Saturday, it was a Bleak Weekend when you consider how some of the losses went down.
