If the BE split right now, both resulting conferences would be better than the Awfully Crappy Conference...and that's even without Memphis, Xavier and whoever else added.

ACC = 01-scout

All that crying by Vitale and especially Packer about the ACC deserving more teams, now they're down to #1 North Carolina and #7 seed Miami-FL. Miami is probably going to get hammered by #2 seed Texas. Watch out for North Carolina, they have to face Arkansas in the second round and if they get past them then they face Washington State. From there they would have to beat either Louisville, Oklahoma, Tennessee or Butler to get to the Final Four.

We may get a chance to get even with the Pac 10 if WVU can get by Xavier.

I'd love to see the Mountaineers take down UCLA. 05-mafia

I know, that sucked! 0-2 vs the Pac-10. Someone suggested a year or so ago a Big East vs Big 12 or Big East vs Pac-10 Challenge, all the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. I would be game for that!

When is the last time that all the #1's made the Final Four? I am very hopeful that Davidson can pull the mighty upset over Kansas, but am filled with doubt. Go Davidson! Go Memphis!

Bout time. The Be eliminated all your other teams from the tournament wheneven they had the misfortune to meet up with us. I thought Louisville would make it a clean sweep. Good win for N.C. The sorry butt ACC finally has something to cheer about.

Now that Duke officially sucks- over the last two years the ACC has porduced only one decent team- NC. The BE sent GT to the final four last year and UofL to the elite eight this year. All the ACC has left over the past two years is the same old guys at NC who turned down a chance to go pro only to get toasted by Memphis in the finals.

One team cracking the Final Four doesn't = the better conference. The ACC had one team crack the Sweet 16 and that's a problem when you consider yourself a basketball conference.

RE: BE 9 > ACC 6, BE 8 > ACC 3, BE 6 > ACC 2
Panite can't be implying that the ACC is a better conference because it has one team, North Carolina, have success and make it to the final four. The only ACC team to make it pst the Sweet 16 for the past two years.
If making it the final four makes for a better conference than CUSA is better tahn the SEC and the Big East.
These conferences have one good team in a bad conference.
The BE sent Gtown to the final four last year. and Louisville to the elite eight this year. The last two BE teams to win titles were Syr, and Uconn. That's four different teams that show BE success that makes a conference when you have several teams that make noise. Not when you have only one team carrying the conference.
If the success of one team elevates the conference, then if Memphis wins it all does that mean CUSA is the best BB conference in the land? It means Memphis is the best team.
Personally I hope Memphis wins it all. And though I've been against it before, I hope they join the BE. this has nothing to do with BB. I've been thinking too small. We need to add at least two more southern school to keep USF from isolation. This splits our travel whereas the northern schools go south and the southern come north a more equal amount of time each year. I'll pass this on to Mike T.

I don't think there is great separation between many of the conferences. However, the BEast is better than the ACC. All you have to do is look at head to head records, quality wins, and tournament success as a whole.
