Saturday NCAA BE Lines
Vegas thinks we go 1-3 today. Let's hope we finish better than that. We do have some real near toss-ups today.

WVU +4.5 vs. Duke
Pitt -3 vs. Michigan St
Notre Dame +2.5 vs. Washington St
Marquette +3.5 vs. Stanford

I don't think Marquette is soft at all. Marquette plays hard and they have heart and they're fighters. I think they're going to take down Stanford.

If Arkansas takes down North Carolina tomorrow do you think Dukie V, Billy Packer and the boys will decide to stop covering the NCAA Tournament?

I think they will talk about what a great conference the ACC will be next season for the rest of the tournament. They'll probably refer to how brutal the ACC regular season and tournament are and how it hurt the teams.

LOL! I was reading one of the message boards, I can't remember which one, and someone said that if West Virginia beats Duke that means that Duke will be the preseason #1 team! 03-lmfao

RE: Saturday NCAA BE Lines
Well Vegas got it right. BE tanked tonight, although Marquette could have easily won, just 1 shot made the difference.

Notre Dame looked like garbage, but credit goes out to Washington St. They played a great game. How about this stat. WSU has only given up 81 point in their first two tournament games. I wonder what the record is in the modern era, say since we went to 64 teams in 1986. That has to be in the Top 5 defensively at least.

Pitt was the usual Pitt. Make the BE title game, then lose in the 2nd round/Sweet 16. I had them winning tonight and losing in the next game because basically, I won't pick Pitt to an Elite 8 until they show me they can make it, no matter how good they look heading into the tournament. It's more than a trend, it's a habit. Pitt just can't make it to the Elite 8, and often they lose in Round 2. Give them credit for making it to at least Round 2 nearly every year, but they are stuck.

Overall, 1-3 is a sizable dissapointment after Round 1. However, 3-0 tomorrow would put us at a shining 11-3 with 4 teams in the Sweet 16. No team is a lock but really Georgetown and Louisville *should* win. Their opponents are capable of the upset, but if the Hoyas and Cards play a good game they win. Villanova is not consistent enough to assume they win, but I think they beat Siena. Siena is far from consistent themselves. They lost to such powers as 12-19 Manhattan, 13-17 JMU, & 14-16 Fairfield this season.

Vegas didn't get it right. They picked the Irish as the closest loss of the 3 BEast teams picked to lose.

Notre Dame got stomped.
