Chambers listed as 6'1 by Rivals, I hope he's closer to 6'4. I'm guessing no ones seen this kid in person?

Haven't seen him in person...6'4" would definitely be better than 6'1", but all I want to know is if he can play. Wooten was basically 6'2" or so, and he did just fine with his size. We just need some players :)

I agree but from everything I've heard on Chambers he's a guy that liked to use his size in high school. Seems like he's more of a combo guard and I'm unsure if he's a quality pure shooter. If he isn't a true 2 then he's going to need to be bigger than 6'1 to do that on this level imo. Wooten is the exception to the rule...kid hat rocket launchers for legs.

I don't know much about the kid, other than he played in the Alabama HS system. I doubt 6'1" would have given him much of a size advantage at the Alabama level (they have traditionally had a high level of High School play). Hopefully he can shoot the lights out AND is strong with the ball. I doubt we would have recruited a 6'1" shooting guard that isn't an athlete that can't shoot though :) But I guess we will see once he gets here next year.

I just hope he's and upgrade over Keith. Losing others didn't bother me...and while Keith isn't great he was a solid combo guard that could have contributed.

A person I know said he played with the two new guards (and other team members) and he said they were an upgrade.

There are also different levels of upgrade when discussing former players. Attitude, grades, chemistry with teammates are important as well as their level of basketball talent. Hopefully our new recruits are well rounded individuals ready to contribute on the floor, and just as important, in the classroom.

Yeah KB, but I also want to start winning more than lose. Attitudes and chemestry pretty much take of themselves if we're winning. Grades are an uphill battle for all athletes. The right plans in place are the key here. Once they're in the program, making them study and show up for classes is the job of coaching staff and provide motivation for them to excell.

Agreed Nick, I was just making the point that attitudes and chemistry can help or hinder winning as well. Of course if we go undefeated all of the attitudes and chemistry will be taken care of, but at our level that isn't going to happen. I think we are building something good. Hopefully this recruiting class is the next step. With the remaining open scholarships it will be interesting to see who we bring in.

As an unbiased observer and somebody that has a lot of ties around the recruiting community I truly believe you guys are going to see a good upswing in your overall talent. The upgraded facilities, the great looking student housing, and sitting in the middle of a recruiting hotbed is going to really start paying off. It's going to take a bit of time though and it will be up and down, but as a relatively new D1 program you have to expect ebbs and flows.

Montez Robinson knows talent, hidden and obvious both, and has ties to a lot of the top AAU programs and JUCO's around the country. With what he has to work with as far as selling recruits on Kennesaw State and what it offers your program should be on the steady rise.

I think/hope your right. We're in a good location to recruit and losing Wooten and Stegall (40% of our scoring..) to graduation allows us to pitch immediate playing time for a lot of guys. It seems some of the fat has been trimmed off the roster so hopefully we can grab some young guys that will come in and play.

Good post oleskl. I am pretty confident in our entire coaching staff starting with that man at the top. You are right in that we will see some ebbs and flows, but our recruiting is definitely on the uptick. Hopefully this year will be a banner recruiting year, and we will continue to grow from here.
