Since no one has commented on it already, and because CSS didn't report on it at all, i have to point out how embarrasing and absolutely disgraceful it was to see ETSU players after the game last night. Granted that was an awful way to lose a basketball game and you had to feel for the players, but for those of you who don't know Davis ripped off his jersey and climbed 9 rows into the bleachers, and attacked a heckling gardner Webb fan left over from the early game. It was like a ron artest rampage, punches were thrown both ways.

ETSU, the A-Sun or both should definately come down with some form of stiff sanction. We aren't the Pac-10 and ETSU isn't the indiana pacers. You can't allow for those kinds of actions and players in this league.

I can't comment one way or the other regarding Davis, I wasn't there. Sounds like the fan should have been escorted from the arena before things go out of hand. That is what normally happens. Bad things can happen when the officials let a game get out of hand. Check out the ETSU board, apparently the official in question has a habit of letting things get out of hand.

I haven't heard anything about this. Anybody with any additional information care to elaborate what happened?

I wasn't at the game and turned the tv off right after the game. Spoke with a couple that was at the game and they didn't see any excitement in the stands or Davis mixing it up with any fans. But, if it did happen shame on Davis and he can become part of the All Thug A-Sun Team with Wooten

Your fans and band have shown behavior throughout the tournament that is an embarrassment, I'm watching right now on TV, you guys will win, and like always, some team in the NCAA tournament will HUMILIATE YOU. It's laughable in my opinion that with almost 5000 students, you guys literally can't cross the street to watch the A-Sun title game. 1500 people? What a joke.

I was at the game, but also did not see or hear anything until reading on this board. I left right at the buzzer and looked over my shoulder to see Bartow following the refs off the court. Other than that, that is all I saw. But I will say this. I have never been so frustrated watching a point guard. Davis is so out of control (on the court) it's ridiculous. If he did go into the stands, then there needs to be heavy discipline. But I don't think it will matter. Adam Sollazzo is going to the ETSU's next point guard.

If he did it, then kick him off the team.

I cannot let this slide. Don't you dare criticize our fans considering how hostile your fans were to everyone else at the tournament last year. Drunk students and even adults kept coming by, taunting and harassing our cheerleaders and pep band. I know because I manage them both. And your students came over and sat right next to our pep band for the title game and were trying to throw things like pens and pennies at the instruments and were calling our male cheerleaders fags.

Now I could care less about the behavior of fans so long as it doesn't directly interfere with the game or escalate to violence where someone gets hurt. The point is...this is tournament time. Emotions run high when there is alot at stake, especially when in this conference the ONLY way to get a tourney bid is to win the championship. On a personal level, I agree with you that sometimes our fans cross the line and say things and do things they shouldn't...but welcome to college basketball, cause everybody has those people.

As for the insult about us getting crushed in the tournament, I'll let that slide, simply because we have sucked in it the past 2 years, no dispute there. But realize, we swept ETSU this year (and I don't want to hear about the bad tech. foul, that's part of the game) and your team fails to win when it counts. Those are just the facts. I can understand your frustration completely, because in all reality, ETSU has superior athletes and probably a better overall team when they're clicking. But that doesn't give you an excuse to insult our players and the hard work they've put in to EARNING their 3rd straight bid to the tournament.

B Hurb,...I understand your response and am thankful your standing up for our fine institution. However, I have learned recently that B-lover is either a jealous, insecure, simple minded individual or makes comments that, lets hope, are just to get people stirred up. For if he truly believes them, then he isn't living in reality. Just disregard them as I suspect most everyone else on this board can plainly see the folly of his comments. Reason and common sense are rarely part of his posts: ie "If he did it, then kick him off the team"=common sense. Please don't respond any more it only encourages him.

And now let me apologize for not having the faith in our team to blowout yet another team in the championship game. My bad....
I for one would one rather take the chance on having two left feet on a dance floor than sitting at home crying by myself because I wasn't invited. Who knows, some day Cinderella will say yes when asked if she'd like to dance.

I was in the pep band when Davis entered the stands. I never saw him mix it up with a GW fan. I do know that when we got to the game today, a security guard asked us if he came anywhere near us. He stayed on the other side of the aisle, but looked like he was out for blood. Another ETSU player did come calm him down.

As for our comments, I hate to see good people in our pep band and school get roped into a generalization. I agree with Hurb in that it's college basketball and students get crazy, no matter championship game or regular season game. I will say (incoming pep band PR), that at the game tonight against JU our crowd criticized their band. Very despicable and our pep band stepped up to clap for them and encourage them to keep playing. They came to support their team just like we did. I'm proud of them for coming all the way up.

It's wrong to cross the line in insults, but let's try to change it by changing ourselves first.

What a bunch of boo-hooing from both sides. It's college basketball. There is cursing and rowdyness. Its part of the damn game. Get over it.

I miss Belmont's pep band.

I remember squaring off against the Bruins 2 years in a row in the tournament AT Belmont.

They had a fun band. Since they shot so many 3's they always had a helium balloon that they'd tape a "3" to every time they made one.

The 2nd year we made a sign that said "Scoreboard! No balloon needed."

Holy mother of pearl st932253. I appreciate the informative graphic because I had no idea about the growth at UCF, but that may be a little excessive.

I'll be the FIRST ONE TO SAY that the ignorant behavior of the Sig Eps last year in JC was a disgrace. They've already been kicked off the campus once. While I do believe there should be some rowdiness at games, pulling a knife, booing a pep band, throwing things, all of that is RIDICULOUS. And don't sit in judgment of our fans, we atleast have fans that were willing to travel in the snow to come watch our team, you guys could barely cross the damn street, and you were given FREE TICKETS! A technical foul with 20 seconds left in a one point game by an official who has shown a pattern of calling too many technical fouls. When the officiating is being talked about more than the game itself, then something obviously went bad wrong. The referees in that game were terrible for both sides, the entire game.
And yes, if Jocolby Davis went into the stands after a fan of another team, or physically assaulted another person then yes, he shoudl be kicked off our team, and kicked out of school. That's purely classless, and if he did it, he needs to be made an example of so that the next time a player gets a dumb idea like that in their head, the thought of losing their scholarship will hopefully keep that from happening again.
That being said, I am all for fans jawing at the players a little bit, but know where the line is. Fact is if Davis did what he did, we don't know what the G-W fan either A: said or B: did. I won't defend the actions that you guys claim he took, but I want to know what provoked it. You know what, the fan could have made a personal comment about his family, family situation, race, or whatever, and that shouldn't be tolerated.

Davis didn't swing on anyone. I call BS. Going into the stands yes, but he didn't touch anyone. Hubbard and Coach Boyd went and got him and it was over.
