Yea no way you can rate Cincy's QB today news is Mauk will have another appeal this time based on hids high school broken leg etc. Ther eis no way he could of played as afrosh etc... interesting but Jones and Grutza are way better than last in the Big East.

Jones is an unknown, but with what Grutza has done, I'd have to rank here near or at the bottom compared to other starters.

It's enough of an honor to even mention those other QB's on the same list as White. White has never lost in the post season and faced some of the toughest opponents thrown at the BE- the champs of the SEC and the BIG 12 and a Ga. Tech team with the NFL's top draft pick, receiver Calvin Johnson. Cool under pressure, Pat White single handedly makes the BE QB situation look good.

Grothe can be placed in the pack with the rest of the QB's. He's not that special. You USF guys are making him more than he is. White can both pass and run the ball.

Expect White to begin the season on the Heisman Watch- again.
Really? Well he has been able to lead USF to back to back bowls beating WV twice eventhough he has had very little help from running backs.
While Grothe can improve Ill put his dtas against ANY Big East QB.

Career stats
By % completion
1.White 64.2%
2.Grothe 61.2%
3.Cantwell 58.6%
4.Lorenzen 56.6%
5.Teel 56.4%

Total Offense ypp
1.Teel 469 plays 3743yds 7.98ypp
2.Cantwell 173 plays 1352 yds 7.81 ypp
3.White 1002 plays 7713 yds 7.70ypp
4.Grothe 1085 plays 6740 yds 6.21 ypp
5.Lorenzen 481 plays 2695 yds 5.60 ypp

Td/INT ratio
1.White 74/16= 4.63
2.Lorenzen 14/6= 2.33
3.Grothe 48/28= 1.71
4.Cantwell 10/7= 1.43
5.Teel 22/23=.96

As I said Grothe has to get better in his INTs but after White I think he is #2 right now. Cantwell will have a chance to prove it on the field this year but so far you cant place him over Grothe.

Wow. You're right, all the rest of the QB's should just meet Pat at midfield each pregame, kiss his ring, and his feet and thank him for allowing them to even be on the same field as him. :ncaabbs:

You forget to mention USF's three straight loses to BE teams that WVU beat and the complete collapse in the last bowl game against an Oregon team that lost their star quarterback. But your're right they did beat WVU. By eight. With 7 coming off a broken play when the WVU defense thought the play was over, turned around and Grothe hit a wide open reciever for a TD.
White is the class of the league right now. It's not just my opinion the Heisman committee thinks so too.

I think you can stick Jarrett Brown there with Cantwell. He's every bit as good, even if he doesn't start for WVU.

Grutza has played one game in Kelly's offense, vs Cryami of Ohio and he was just about perfect. Grutza is an excellent scrambler and runner. Most of you guys remember Grutza from Dantonio's offense.

I wasnt saying he was better than White. My point was that he has proven to be ahead of the pack and specially those that havent played enough.
Many times its hard to rank a QB because you have to also take into play all the other tools he has around him. White is a great player but also had the luxuryof playing in same back field with Slaton another Heisman contender. Tell had the same with Rice. Grothe hasnt had that opportunity.
As for the Oregon game that was a complete meltdown as much the defense collapsing as Grothe's play

Jones is a pretty good QB.

I hope Grutza starts and succeeds for the Bearcats. I'm cheering for him because he is a KY boy.

This thread is a joke

Some of you are ranking teams and not the QB

Andrew Robinson had the 66th highest QB efficiency despite playing injured--he is not the 8th ranked QB in the Big East..Maize rating Hernandez 4th is classic

Well I l have to say that for our offense I wouldnt trade Grothe for any other BE QB with maybe White being the exception and even there not sure he would be the best fit for ouir system.

LOL. Our Oline was truely horrific, one of the worst, if not, the worst in the country. But that makes what Andrew Robinson did at Syracuse all the more impressive. He threw for 2200 yards and had 14 touchdowns and 5 interceptions, and running for his life almost every down. I would like to see what he could do with even an average Oline. But all the same, going into the season, he is a proven qb who certainly is not the worst in the BE. I call it this way.

White
Cantwell/Grothe/Teel/Robinson

Robinson is the best QB that Syracuse has had since McNabb.

Agreed with Mark. Rating is a joke. Outside White, it is a crap shot who is the best QB in the BE. Ranking Teel above Lorenzen is a total joke. Also, how do you out Cantwell above others when he barely played? Grothe is good but he threw way too many INTs. Outside White, it is a tough call.
