That's great for the front page. Maybe students will actually ready about the team and show up next tuesday.

I attended the Ohio game and felt that Kent's student showing was rather strong. Is it a consensus that the students are not supportive enough of the basketball team?

Speaking generally... Kent State has around 22,000 at the main campus and when no more than 1,000 go to a basketball game it makes you wonder. That's 5%. That's a pretty low turnout.

Don't get me wrong, the students provide a great atmosphere, but overall if you do the math if 20% (1 in 5) of the students show up the MACC is already at 70% capacity. How crazy would it be if the entire MAC Center was all students. I know this won't happen because other people buy tickets, but it's just interesting to look at.

RE: Stater Front Page
Personally, I remember from my time at Kent (2000-2004) that we had to get there at least 1 hour prior to game time to get a prime student section seat behind the north basket. And that was for just about every home game, except for maybe a few of the gimme OOC at the beginning of the season. Also, we would stand the entire game...all of us. When I went to the NIU game this year, the north student section was maybe 60% full, with only half of them standing for the whole game. I don't know if it's apathy or what, but I can't believe how much has changed in the last 4 years. It's pretty disappointing. But I will give credit to those who do show up because they are into the game 100%.
