RE: Is Belmont ETSU's Biggest Rival?
DeChellis had some guys leave, too. It's the nature of college basketball.

But it's like we're trying to discount the talent of those old ETSU teams. Zakee Wadood, Jerald Fields- they were better than anyone ETSU has now on the post by a longshot.

Who on this team starts on the 2003 and 2004 tournament teams? Maybe I see a Wadood, Fields, Rhoda, Tiggs and Pigram mix (which would be quite a team), but that might be a bit charitable to this year's team.

I agree that motivation is lacking- look at the results of the Stetson and the Belmont games- and you could see these results coming right down University Blvd.

But I"m not convinced this is a better team on paper than Belmont. I'm not convinced this is a team that should win.

When Eddie D was starting in his first few years I heard a "fan" lament- and this was a guy who went to all the games and the Bucs were on the rise- that they had no heart.

I thought it was a hollow arguement then and I see this one as being potentially as hollow.

No "Eye of the Tiger." He has no heart . . .

Is this ETSU basketball discussion or Apollo Creed reading "The Wizard of Oz?"

I disagree with saying Ed Dechellis teams had no heart...however I believe that it is applicable with this team. Minus one breif run, they just layed down last night. That's fine if you think Belmont is a better team on paper...but the fact remains, we aren't trying to compete.

Obviously DeChellis' team had heart. That's what made the comment by that idiot so absurd.

But I'm just going to say this. While the last two games speak for themselves, I simply believe that Bartow can eventually motivate these guys, if for no other reason than he once was a Bobby Knight assistant.

Schnauzer- what if I give your boy a whip tomorrow? Do you think that might rekindle some old flames and get the players to try harder?

Today they were a mixed bag...but it was good enough for a win.
