ND goes down
UCONN 84 ND 78

After all the talk about the football series, good to see UCONN beat their butt . They got lucky early in the year and today was not their day. UCONN got down at the half as usual but came back and won the game in the 2nd half.

8th win in the row.

Should only be 7 if UC didn't crap on themselves at the end of the game.03-banghead Oh well UC won tonight 60-43 over St. John's and is now 7-5 in the Big East and still has DePaul, South Florida, and Providence at home.

RE: ND goes down
Very important and nice win for UConn. I think the win tonight puts UConn in great shape for the 1 or 2 seed at MSG with their remaining schedule and current placement. They are tied with ND for 3rd, but GT and UofL have tougher remaining schedules.

As for UC-UConn, UC could have won, but its pointless to play the "what-if" game. Everyone has a few super close losses that they wish they could play over, and in some of those the team that lost did choke it away.

As for UConn-ND, I just have to laugh at your wording SFHusky. How was ND lucky in the 1st matchup? UConn never led in South Bend and the Irish were up 16 at halftime. UConn came storming back to make it a tight game, and ND won by 6. Considering the home teams won by 6 in each matchup this season, is it a stretch to say UConn and Notre Dame are quite close in stature? It isn't fatal to give some credit to other teams occasionally.

Yes when teams make a ton of 3s in a game, they might be just a little lucky. I never had any doubt that UCONN is a better team than ND. ND is one of those that live and die by the 3 point shots like many mid-majors.

As for Cincy could have won, UCONN could say the same for GTOWN, Memphis, 1st ND and Gonzaga game early in the season. They were all close games. This team is learning how to close those games out now. You are right it is pointless because that's how basketball games are sometimes.

Yes UL has tougher schedule, but UCONN got way tougher earlier schedule so we do deserve a little break.
