Atlantic Sun Tourney Info
Since the men and women tourneys are both being played during the same week, I emailed the Lipscomb ticket office to ask if the ticket packages included both the men's and women's games and if the game times for each session had been set. Here was her response. Just passing it along...

The books include both the men's and women's games for each session.
There are two sessions, morning and afternoon, on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The times for these sessions will be 12:00 & 2:15 and 6:00 and 8:15. Wednesday and Thursday's sessions will be women/men and women/men and Friday's sessions will be women/women and men/men. The championship games on Saturday are at 1:00 for the women and 6:00 for the men. Thank you for your interest.

If we make it to the championship game, I may try to make it. Would be great to see both the Bucs and Lady Bucs in the championship on Sat.

Yeah the only way I'm going is if we make it to the championship game.

What Marcus?

You're not going to take David Mullins up on his kindhearted effort not to hold the tourney here so "We can enjoy the other towns of the Atlantic Sun Conference?"

I loathe the tournament being combined like this. One positive for moving into the OVC would be that atleast it'd be a real tournament again.

RE: Atlantic Sun Tourney Info
The Southern Conference has a combined tournament, I don't remember any complaining then...
Nashville is a good city to host it, too bad that the SEC Women's Tournament is the same weekend which will KILL any hopes of decent attendance at the A-Sun, not to mention that the OVC Tournament is over at the Municipal Auditorium the 7th and 8th. They are doing the opening round at campus sites (probably to cut down on the cost of renting out the building) so if you like basketball, Nashville is a great place to be. Oh, and Vandy is at home against Miss. State on March 5th.
Any thoughts that OVC officials might be slipping over to the A-Sun tournament or vice versa for a little visit?

The Southern tournament was in the same city but I do not remember the quarterfinals ever being split over two days in the Southern like they have done with the A-Sun this year. I really hope we get a Thursday quarterfinal game.

You don't want a Thursday quarterfinal game. That means playing 3 in a row. The day break on Thursday goes to the 1 and 2 seeds as a reward for a good regular season.

I understand from a fan perspective four days is a long time from home, but look at it this way, go to Nashville a day early and enjoy almost a week in the capital. The SEC women's tournament and the OVC tournaments are there at the same time, so there will be plenty to do.

Not to mention the symphony, and any happenings that might be going on at Legend's, The Second Fiddle, The Stage, The Wheel (my personal favorite), or if you're into the tourist crap Tootsie's or Coyote Ugly. (I promise that Coyote Ugly is OVERRATED in Nashville)

The southern conference was never a split tournament...not in this way.

As for the excititment of the number one and two seed getting a day of rest between games....I would remind you of the 1991 southern conference tournament. Does anyone remember Furman's fate?

You're right, but it's always been in the same location. The year it was in Chattanooga, the opening round and quarters were at Maclellan for the women, and the men played at the roundhouse. Then the tourneys combined for the semis and the finals. The fact is it makes more sense to have the tourneys in the same place, the same weekend, it motivates the fans to go watch the women's games.
