What A Great Ending To The Pitt/WV Game
Pitt is down by 2 points with 8 seconds to go. Instead of going for the tie to send it to overtime, Coach Dixon elects to go for the 3 and the win. Ramon, who had been cold all night launches a 3 just before the bell rang to end the game. The ball goes in, all net, Pitt steals one at home. Great game.

RE: What A Great Ending To The Pitt/WV Game
I only saw the finish of the game but that was a huge shot for Pitt, and a big loss for WVU, who would have been 5th in the league with a win. WVU really needs some quality wins as well. Here are the standings heading into the weekend action. On Saturday the top 4 play each other, with GT @ UofL and ND @ UConn.

Current RPI numbers are in parentheses for teams with at-large hopes. UC won't make the tournament, but could provide a problem for teams like WVU, Syracuse, and Seton Hall. The Bearcats next 3 are Rutgers, St John's, and South Florida, so look for UC to be 8-5 in 2 weeks. It won't look good to have a .500 team overall above you in the league standings. I don't see anyone getting a bid if the committee has to "overlook" a team that finished ahead of them but clearly isn't making the tournament.

Standings
1 Georgetown 9-1 19-2 (8)
2 Notre Dame 7-2 17-4 (32)
3 Connecticut 7-3 17-5 (12)
4 Louisville 7-3 17-6 (24)
5 Pittsburgh 6-4 18-5 (17)
6 Marquette 6-4 16-5 (29)
7 Syracuse 6-5 16-8 (41)
8 Seton Hall 5-5 15-8 (50)
9 Cincinnati 5-5 10-12
10 West Virginia 5-5 16-7 (43)
11 Providence 4-6 13-9
12 DePaul 4-6 9-13
13 Villanova 3-6 13-8
14 St. John's 3-7 9-12
15 Rutgers 2-9 10-14
16 South Florida 1-9 10-13

Minor correction, Notre Dame plays at Marquette this weekend, not UConn.

It shouldn't have come to that. Pitt shouldn't have been close enough to get the win with a three. But if WVU keeps missing their free throws they'll lose more close games.

Hopefully, we'll get even in Morgantown.

Thanks, I looked at the schedule wrong. The Huskies and Irish play Wednesday of next week. ND @ Marquette is another big game though. I expect UConn to take out Georgia Tech tomorrow.

The crazy part of this game was that they took off two free throws from WVU because they said thee wrong player shot then they made them re-shoot and that player missed the front end of a one and one. First Huggs loses on the Georgetown goal tend and then this!

And they picked him (the wrong shooter, that is)

This is a very good team. They just need to learn how to win close games.

We will have Fields back by then. It will be interesting to see what happens in that game.

The ref's can't take points off the board like that can they. Wrong shooter going to the line has been going on forever. My high school did in they '70, never got caught. they finally stoped when kids mother cried about it, ref's never caught on.

They said it is a reversible error on the highlights, even after they have been made, as long as play hasn't started back up.
