RE: Double OT in Hadesburg.
You only beat us by 7 at home. Not a whole lot to brag about.

They slid by with a 7pt win at their place, but then lost by like 19pts at UAB.

An at-large bid, while unlikely, is still possible for UAB. Our RPI is at 83... which is still about twice as good as USM's. You USM guys claim to care nothing about UAB, yet you surely do gloat when you win... and yet are nowhere to be found when you lose. Coincidence? I think not. What more should you expect though from a program with a bunch of NAIA banners hanging from the rafters? Beating USM would have been great for sure, but if I could choose between being where USM is right now... and being where UAB is, I'll tell you that being a UAB basketball fan sure beats being a USM basketball fan. UAB may not make it to the NCAAs this year given all the trouble and losses we've experienced, but the state of our program is still worlds ahead of USM. And besides, for USM fans to talk about our football attendance is a joke... that attendance last night was pathetic.

As I've said before Goldballs, how about you make a few NCAA trips before you try to claim superiority over UAB basketball? I frankly don't care if USM sweeps UAB and we still make it to the NCAAs. You know why? Because UAB beating USM isn't all that important. Sure it's fun, but that's not where the mark of a program is. First of all, USM doesn't even have an all-time series lead over UAB... but even if you did, do you think that makes you better? UAB's got the all-time series lead over Kentucky 3 games to 2. Do you think that makes us a better program? No. It's going to the NCAAs and actually doing something that's important. Maybe that's why USM basketball is in the state it is. You've made it a goal to simply beat teams like UAB rather than making the goal be to get to the NCAAs.

LOL!! USM is a football school. 8-0 ring a bell?? Basketball is a part time hobby at USM. Still, our hobby sport has won three out of the last four against the mighty UAB program that you guys go on and on about how great it was, is and going to be. I don't see why you can't get how much fun it is for USM fans to gig you Blazer fans over that fact.03-lmfao

EXACTLY MY POINT....It's hilarious, these UAB fans really think we are bragging over beating a nobody...exactly my point indeed......and it is now 3 out of the last 4..priceless!....

RE: Double OT in Hadesburg.
Southern Miss is mediocre at best in basketball yet we continue to dominate UAB despite our lack of success in USM's worst major sport. The Blazers have never beaten the Golden Eagles in football, have lost three out of four in basketball, and will get swept under the rug as usual in baseball. Nobody believes beating an average UAB team at home in basketball is anything special, but just another day in the life of a Southern Miss fan.

What's hilarious is the fact that if basketball was a "hobby sport" you wouldn't post in basketball related threads. Try again. And once again, check the all time record. Your sh!tty team hasn't done a tenth of what we have in basketball and you've had more time to do it.

So as far as the jealousy thing goes, if it really does kill, I'm surprised you haven't tried to commit suicide yet.

That "sh#tty" team whipped your azz for the third time in the last four tries. UAB fans have this delusional image of how great your team is. Well, I hate to break it to you, the last decent thing about your basketball program is in Missouri coaching now. Mike Davis is a chump. LE owns his sorry azz.
So take your overinflated image of your crappy basketball team and stick it. UAB is USM's b#tch. Remember your place little boy and live with it. And please try and show up with a better than high school team in football this year.

mike davis is a chump, you got that right! i have never seen a coach cry like a little school girl so much! last night i watched him throw a clip board down on the ground in anger, then a few minutes later go to mid-court and pick up the ball and walk back to the bench like he was going to take his ball and go home (yet to figure out why in th he// he wasnt t'd up for thatone).

keep living in the past...because that's all you've got.... your basketball program died the day that Mike Anderson left town for greener pastures... the Mike Davis experiment has proven to be a complete and utter failure...he is Eustachy's BIATCH!!! next yaer he should just go and wear a dress to the game!

Well, the simple are easily amused.

For what it's worth, congrats on the win, Eagles.

Is Davis Eustachy's biotch? I'm not willing to concede that just yet. Besides, it'll be a moot point when y'all run him off for no good reason.

RE: Double OT in Hadesburg.
USM has won 3 of the last 4... that's right. And 2 of those 3 wins came against one of the worst UAB teams in our HISTORY...literally... about the 2nd or 3rd-worst team to be exact. So as I've told you before. Congratulations for last year beating a bad, very inexperienced UAB team. This year, however, you split. And you can say all day about how you only lost by 7 in Birmingham (yet it wasn't even really that close)... and say you won by 8 in Hattiesburg (and yet that doesn't tell how close it really was at all).

And if you don't consider all of this to be bragging, I don't know what you'd call it. Maybe you need to look up what the word means. If you really cared nothing about it, you'd be hiding under the same rock you were when UAB beat USM earlier this year or when USM lost to Savannah State. See what UAB did when they beat USM earlier this year? For the most part, I saw no UAB folks beating their chest or getting too pumped up about it. Why? Because UAB *expects* to beat basketball teams like USM.

As for the comment about neither team going to the NCAAs this year. While that's certainly possible that neither team will go, there's one team with a heck of a lot better chance... and the initials of that school are not USM. The very fact that UAB isn't guaranteed an NCAA bid, and yet you're bragging about splitting with us is also pretty hilarious. UAB doesn't enjoy losing to USM (or any team for that matter). Nobody does. But the fact is that even after such a bad loss to a team like USM, our RPI is around 80... while USM is around 160. I think it's clear from that who the better team is. Head to head THIS YEAR (which is what's actually relavent), UAB is 1-1 vs. USM ... but overall, UAB's got a big advantage over USM both in CUSA record, overall record, RPI.

And I kind of doubt you want to start talking about last year... because then that involves getting into a discussion of history and tradition. And as it relates to basketball, USM is no match. This is no biased assumption. This is a fact which any well-informed basketball fan would know. All-time, USM has a losing record to UAB...but even were USM to have an advantage there... UAB's got about 10 times the basketball tradition of USM. And we haven't even had basketball as long as you guys. But then, like any other good football-loving USM fan, you try to bring football into a basketball discussion whenever the issue of basketball history comes up. Once again, this is probably why your basketball program is in the state that it is.

Make the NCAAs... then talk. Until then, your pathetic ramblings of how bad UAB is ring hollow.
